We won't get high recruiting rankings until the damned idiots stop taking stars away from whoever commits with us.  Our talent base is pretty strong.  If we have a QB with his head straight we're practically contenders already.

Recruiting rankings mean !@#$.

9 years is alot of time to get a program on par with west virginia and louisville

I guess then, you're assuming WVU and Louisville remain stagnant for nine years?  So if it is so easy for an upstart to get even with WVU/Louisville in 9 years, why can't so many other existing teams do it?  I simply don't think it is as easy as you want to think.  Your answer is likely because USF is in Florida...so players leave the state or go to an existing in-state power before considering USF.   I don't see how that tide is turned after a few years in DI-A.

I know this is the same old rant from you smazza, but I felt compelled to visit your thread and comment.

Smazza, did you ever think that kids leave the area to get away from home? I know a lot of players like to stay local, but college is a time to leave the nest and sow your wild oats. I think USF is gaining momentum and recogniztion. I think we are one Big East Championship away from completely blowing up as a university. When we make out first BCS game, and leading up to that point, we will get more positive pub than in the last 9 years combined. I just hope we get to play someone like UF, FSU, Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and the likes in that game so we can show the college  football worl what USF is all about. (Remember, with our young RBs, awesome receiving corps, and amazing D, we are a solid QB and decent kicker away from contending for the BE Championship THIS season.)

P.S.- I think we might have that solid QB on our team right now and he is only a freshman. Look at Penn State last year...a lot of question marks, but a great season.....beware of the Bull in '06

Look at all the CA & TX school ... and they have been around a LOT longer than USF Football.

I am suprised how many do not APPRECIATE what we have done in such a sort time.

HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE YOU THINK USF COMPETES FOR BIG EAST TITLE?

We were almost in the mix last year, so I believe it won't take much more to get us into real contention for the title.
