I received an e-mail from the Bulls Club with the following info about the UCF Tailgate.  Earlier I posted a link to the PDF file that was attached.

University of Central Florida

Saturday, September 16, 2:30pm

Directions to the Citrus Bowl from Tampa: I-4, eastbound

(1) to John Young Parkway exit (#79), north to Church Street and east

to stadium; or (2) to SR 441/17-92 north exit (Orange Blossom Trail, #80B),

north to Long Street and left to stadium.

Parking: Parking rates are $10-$15 depending on the event, and private parking

is available in lots and on lawns around the Citrus Bowl. Another opstion

is you can park for $5 and take one of the park and ride shuttles from Downtown

Orlando.

Things to do in Orlando: If you’re going to make a weekend out of it, Orlando’s

attractions break down into four categories; Disney, Universal/Sea World,

Downtown, and International Drive. The best site for general information on

all of them is the Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau at

www.orlandoinfo.com. Also make sure to check the tourism section on

www.orlandosentinel.com for any events or concerts.

There’s basically every kind of dining experience you could ever want in Orlando,

but something different is Café Tu Tu Tango. Modeled after a 19th

Century Spanish artist’s loft, enjoy tapas style dining while watching live artists

paint and sculpt right in front of you. You can even buy what you see and

take it home with you! www.cafetututango.com

Game Tickets: $30, Call 1-800-GoBulls to order your game tickets today.

USF Pre-Game Party: $35 per adult/$12.50 children 5-12. Location:

TBD.

813.974.1936

Take a road trip to Orlando on Saturday, September 16th as the Bulls take on

the UCF Golden Knights. Package includes round trip bus transportation departing

USF at 9:00 a.m., game ticket, and USF Pre-Game party ticket.

Deadline to reserve: August 23, 2006

Call Debbie Pershing at (813) 974-3162 to make your reservations

BTW my Navtec map says it's 1.5 (2.4K) fron TD Waterhouse @ 600 W Amelia St to the Citrus Bowl at 1610 W Church St.  - just a leisurely stroll.

Its easier to get people to visit a palace (RJS) than a dump in the middle of a ghetto.

I hope you all do bring a lot of fans!  It's a 2:30 game...so get there early...there's a lot of reserved parking...so the non-reserved areas will fill up quickly.  Feel free to walk around and stop by for a beer, too!  Despite the online bickering and jibberish...it's still just a game and supposed to be fun!  I'm sure there will be some bantering...but hopefully it stays classy and everyone enjoys themselves!!  It's our last year in the dump...and it is a dump!  But still...it's the fans that will create the atmosphere!

For some of you that have never been to the CB...although it's a relic and a dump...it still has held some of the most historical and memorable college football games in history!!  Plus...there' not a bad seat in the house...so it'll be easy to stay up on the action!!

I'm sure we'll have a big crowd and hopefully bring over 50K!!

If you need hotel info...I live in Tampa and stay in the Courtyard Marriot on Magnolia and Colonial drive...it's fair priced and a nice hotel.  There's also the downtown Marriot next to the TD Waterhouse..a bit more pricey...but nice and only minutes from the stadium!!  Of course there's a ton of hotel space in O-Town...just depends on the full weekend plans for you.

Kirkman Rd. has many hotels and is only 10 min. from the stadium...Kirkman Rd. is where Universal Studios is located and has easy access to the highways.  From there...your best bet would be to take Kirkman Rd. north (away from I-4) until you hit the 408...then go east and the CB is on your left...get off on Orange Blossom Trail.

If you're coming from Tampa on I-4...it's actually best to just take that to the 408 and go west and get off on OBT.  Or...just take I-4 to OBT and go left until you get to the CB.

What is the record for a UCF game ? Was it last year's Championship game ?

I wanted to organize the stampede you're talking about for last year - and things that I had to take into consideration:

1) No one wants to follow a bus down I-4.   If you've ever followed a bus, you know what I mean.

2) Many students and young alumni will be going the night before.  In fact, our AA had a social on Friday night last year at Channelside, I wouldn't be surprised to see yours do the same thing at Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island or Church Street.  Either way - the younger crowd will come out to PARTY on Friday and Saturday nights.

3) The best thing you can do - especially if you have as many buses as you hope - is to get permission to paint them up with made-for-window chalk and gather 10-20 volunteers from this board to get there early and paint them up with things like "Go Bulls" "Beat UCF" etc.

Good luck.

Yeah...the Championship Game crowd of 51,978 was our largest crowd ever.

In 2000, UCF had their only other crowd of over 50,000 when 50,220 came out to see a Michael

"Vickless" Va Tech team (Vick was hurt the week before in Miami).

2:30 pm kickoff might hurt some casual fan attendance...but anything over 40,000-45,000 plus would be gravy.

Already seeing the negative ... let's see if we get 10K BULLS Stampeding there first ... then you can bring on the gloom.

We have about 15K season tix (guessing, probably on the low end) and get about 25K regularly at Home.

Should be easy to get 10K plus to travel 100 miles - more or less.

Go BULLS !!!
