Go ahead and laugh, pigskin breath. The Big East will have two preseason top 10 teams (West Virginia and Louisville) and four legitimate Heisman Trophy candidates (Brian Brohm, Mike Bush, Steve Slaton, Pat White). To say nothing of a few underrated stadiums that can get pretty darn loud. 1. West Virginia: As long as it's daylight, you're safe. A night game at Mountaineer Field? Forget it. It's a beautiful combination of Tiger Stadium at LSU (see: rowdy fans liquoring up Friday night through Saturday kickoff) and the Orange Bowl (there's a reason Warren Sapp once said of UM night games: "the freaks come out at night.") And if you're really, really lucky, and it's 40 degrees or lower and the batteries are flying and the 'Eers win, you just might find yourself in the middle of the perfect storm. Complete with couch burning. 2. Syracuse: I know, I know. The 'Cuse is down. But ask any coach who has had the misfortune of playing at the Carrier Dome when Syracuse is decent or in the top 25, and they'll tell you it's a nightmare. And when the Orange is top 10 good (hey, it has happened before), the Dome is among the top five toughest places to play in the country. 3. Louisville: Papa John's Cardinal Stadium hasn't been around too long, but The House That Schnellenberger Built is beyond what any (then) non-BCS team could dream of. Passionate UL hoop fans finally are beginning to comprehend life away from the hardwood. Once the facility is enclosed and completely bowled -- and you know innovative AD Tom Jurich has plans for it somewhere -- it rockets up this list. 4. Pittsburgh: Give Wanny time. He's going to build that program into a monster. And when he does, Heinz Field will be just as wild as it is for Steelers games. 5. Connecticut: OK, who here has ever heard of Rentschler Field? Trust me, people, it has a chance. Think of the crazies in Gampel Pavilion. It's not that far of a stretch to see it translate to football. 6. South Florida: Raymond James Stadium is one of the louder places in the NFL. Problem is, the Bullies draw about half of what the Bucs get. Which leaves you with about a quarter of the intimidation. 7. Rutgers: Personally, I love the place. A sparkling mid-tier facility. But there's really nothing intimidating about it. 8. Cincinnati: They average about 22K a game at Nippert. That about says it all. http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=106019
