USF Downed By Georgetown In Final Game Of Weekend Series, 2-0

TAMPA, Fla. (April 30, 2006) – Held to three hits on the afternoon, the University of South Florida baseball team (20-25, 9-12 BIG EAST) fell to the Georgetown Hoyas (21-25, 7-11 BIG EAST), 2-0, on Sunday, April 30 at Red McEwen Field. With the loss, USF dropped its second-consecutive game to Georgetown, giving the Hoyas the series win (2-1).

Despite tying a career-high in strikeouts (6), left-hander Davis Bilardello suffered his fourth loss of the season, allowing two runs on six hits in seven innings of action. Jim Cassidy and Matt Ingram combined for three innings of relief, giving up no runs on two hit.  

Joey Angelberger, Kris Howell and Dexter Butler accounted for the Bulls’ three hits on the afternoon. Butler reached base three times in the game, going 1-for-1 with two walks.  

During the contest, the Bulls honored its four seniors (Howell, Ingram, Matt McHargue and Brian Baisley), who were playing the final home series of their USF career.

USF will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a three-game weekend series beginning on Friday, May 5. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

how bad must our baseball program be to lose a HOMe series to a Georgetown team that was 5-10 coming in.

I hope that we make some chnages in baseball is pathetic how they have been performing.

EC is likely headed out the door, but if they can't provide a BE-quality (The Red would be second-class in the Div. II Sunshine conf.) environment, his replacement won't fare much better.

No we wont...we have 2 more series on the road, against teams that are already ahead of us...we will be lucky...and if anyone thought yesterdays game was as bad as it gets, they werent there today...
