Sorry guys, being a newbie to this particular board, I wasn't aware that this was an older topic of conversation.  Besides, the money spent on an on campus stadium would be better utilized if they tore down that trailer park excuse of a dome and built a NICE facility.

The Sun Dome is a clone of the building that UF uses for hoops (O'Connel Center, O'Donnel Center, somehting like that.) But if you notice, theirs is tricked out in ways that the Sun Dome is not - the advantage of having one of the biggest athletic budgets in the country.

Having been inside of both on numerous occasions, we definitely penny pinched when it came to all the bells and whistles.  Ours is definitely a scaled down version to say the least.

It might be interesting to see what the situation is at Heinz field in terms of timing and cost, since they have a similar situation except the advantage of common team colors.

This was discussed last year and I believe since they have the same colors and name that Pittsburgh is in gold in each end zone and they simply repaint the logo in the center of the field for each game similar to our U over the white Bucs flag.

I don't think we can use Heinz as a good example-- they went into that stadium as full partners with the Steelers. When you go through the gates, there is a Panther on one side and Steeler logo on the other.

We might be more like Temple (but with less costs) is with the Eagles.

Why & how do you consider RJS a Bucs ownership type deal?  Did the Bucs put any money in the kitty to pay for RJS.  I think not. The Glazers/Bucs bullied their way to have  control but its a "community" stadium.  Our Hillsborough community leaders forgot/failed to make USF a partner 'cuz RJS was & is all about the Bucs.  USF is just another tenant like the defunct MLS team.

Wonder what would happen if USF did threaten to build a 38K stadium on campus w/the ablility to close in each EZ for a total of 20K total more seats 58K total.  Think they would share the keys to theRJS executive wash room?  Absolutely not.  They force TSA to foot the bill.

Question for the BBC'rs that went to the Polo grounds for the AllStar game in Jan.  How were the accomodations?  Would they be acceptable for 6 Bull home games?  Secondly could a decent facility house football and baseball?  Think Joe Robbie Stadium on a smaller scale?
