about grothe so he can't throw a pass 80 yds but he is deadly accurate hitting WR in stride under 40 yds.

isn't that what's needed in the spread that we run?

Exactly ... and BULLieve we will be quite excited about 2006 come 15-04-06.

It's not that we don't have athletic talent at the position.  It is ROD SMITH'S fault the offense and in particular QB play sucks.  Pat could have been a good QB, same could be said about Denson and now Hill.  We could land the next Dan Marino and still have lousy QB play / development with Rod as the OC / QB coach.

I'm not sure if Matt is ready yet, but that kid is a player.  He is tough, smart, accurate on short throws, can run, is a leader, and a winner.  Sounds like a good bet for starter to me.  If he does start, expect some up's and down's as he adjusts to the college game, but I'd rather have up's and down's with a RS Freshman than a senior.

P.S.  I declare smazza to be null and void.

He played a VERY similiar offense at Lake Gibson as a SR. Hit the film room and playbook in his RS year.

Now we will see how things pan out during the Spring Game.

I BULLieve he will be ready.

E.T.,   why do you put a capital E on the end of Grothe?

Is his name pronounced like "grow-thee"

I have been pronouncing it "growTH" (with a long O sound and a "th" like you're saying the word "the") Is this wrong?

two guys that see things differently agree on this

we are in trouble at qb position

i agree that we should go with rs frosh over failed senior

but we all know their will be no development of grothe and combined with brutal play calling,USF's offense will continue to be an embarassment

We need to start Grothe, and just bite the bullet in developing him to be the QB for the next few years.
