Have you guys had yours yet?  If so, who really stood out?

Is there another Asante Samuel in this year's class?

I don't know...but it's pretty obvious Brandon Marshall will be special.

We're pulling for DE Paul Carrington and TE Darcy Johnson, but I'm honestly not expecting a whole lot past Brandon.

Scouts have a way of finding players who have 'it', but also not likely to sing praises until after draft day so they can get a steal in the later rounds.

You mentioned Marshall, but I think that Carrington has the tools that will get him drafted on the second day.  If not, he'll be signing a free agent contract soon after.

I hope things go well for them.  It's always fun to see your former players in the NFL.

Thanks - what about the bulls?  Who besides Hall is expected to perform at the next level?  Is Royal a senior?

Yes, Royal is a senior. Not sure what will happen to him.

My first time watching him was during the USF @ UAB game 2 years ago.  I realized 2 things then:

1) UAB has TERRIBLE ATTENDANCE (confirmed in person in 11/05)

2) Royal is an %$^$@.  That was the infamous televised backtalk to Leavitt.

I could have derived a #3 about Leavitt...but in the interest of good conversation, I'll belay that....

Nevertheless, the kid can play and I hope he makes it to the next level where we will be sure to hear of him again in one way or another.

Besides Hall and Royal getting looked at for Pro Day, I think Big Frank Davis was getting checked out by some scouts.

Anyone else from USF that hasn't been mentioned already?

Don't get sucked into the abyss, FLBeach.   ;)

I think Davis has been estimated as the next best chance of a draft pick after Hall.  He's clearly the strongest player and did a nice job throwing up the weights.  He has a good shot on day 2.

Tim Jones is another possibility, but I don't think he'll be drafted but believe he'll get into camp.

Royal certainly has the tenacity to make it at the next level, but I'm thinking he's gets a look as a FA.

Taking off the G/G glasses, I'm not sure what to make of the whole UAB incident with him.  Was it Leavitt being confrontational because he knows it was a known motivational device with him?  Who knows...  It may have been a bit overblown by a TV production staff trying to generate some excitement on a rainy Wednesday night in Legion Dump with what looked liked a crowd of about 5k people.   Regardless, I think it's probably something that could have been handled by an assistant away from the sidelines.  I wasn't crazy about CJL's focus shifting from the game to TR.  Whatever happned, it didn't recur (at least publically).
