Hall, Royal Receive Honors

TAMPA - Seniors Andre Hall and Terrence Royal were named the University of South Florida's John & Cynthia Ruzic offensive and defensive most valuable players for 2005.

Hall and junior Stephen Nicholas are the 2005 Jim & Laurie Ragsdale Offensive and Defensive Playmakers of the Year.

Hall, a running back from St. Petersburg, broke his USF single-season rushing record with 1,434 yards . He also broke his rushing touchdown record with 13. A junior college transfer, Hall finished his two-year career at USF with a school-record 2,791 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns.

Royal, a defensive end from Wharton, set USF records with 10 sacks this season and 19.5 career sacks.

Nicholas, a linebacker from Jacksonville, had 79 tackles, a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

They are tied with 10 ... Shurron also had 10 in 2001.

Both Tim Jones and Moffet won the Best Front 7 Award for the Defense...
