Well, in that case maybe it's better we didn't offer him, but I was under the impression that he ran the spread and threw for like a billion yards

I agree, I remember hearing his current coach say that he could start for any D1 school right now. I guess there is something to this story that has never been made public.

No other D1 school offered him either so something must be up with him if every other school passed him up!

did other D1 program need a QB as bad as we do?

seems he was a "great" passer in JC and worth taking a chance on.

as opposes to a wing T QB in HS?

the NE QB was a JC kid!

Yeah, I'd like to see us run it more like WVU does, that would work more to our strengthes on offense I think.

We don't have the offensive line for the spread option. It invloves precise reads, something our OLine wasn't good at this year.

As a scholarship player at UF, Riley must be granted a schollie for at least one year at the school he transfer to if he stays in I-A. So Yes, he will have a schollie.

(I don't think the NCAA has changed this rule yet although there was proposed legislation.)

So if he wanted to transfer and nobody wanted to give him a scholarship he could not play anywhere ???????

That makes a lot of sense .........................

I thought Bronson was Ok but he wasn't worth all of the hubbub.

He was the best kicker on the team, as evidenced by his position as starter. How much more hubbub do you want.

It's nice to hear how some of you guys have responded to this, I've always thought that our program would never be big time until we stop getting excited about the prospects of guys would couldn't hack it at the big three transferring to USF.  That was ok in the first few years of our programs existence but now that we've gone bowling and are in the Big East that needs to end.  I would like to think that we have the talent now that if the guy couldn't make it at UF and had issues with the coaches than we simply don't need him.
