  1. Wow, I take a week off from this rivalry thread and I return and it is still here. It is amazing that some of us are still posting here at page 13 that it isn't a rivalry. Lets look at this scientifically then, based on the idea that a rivalry is made by the mutual passion of team's fans, lets start a thread about our rivalry with Louisville and see how long it lasts. Seriously, I'd love to say our rival is UF or FSU or USC or Texas but we're not quite there yet, I'll take despising UCF over nobody.
  2. This entire thread is almost unbelievable. A rivalry is not a product of geographic location. A rivalry is not based on win-loss record. A rivalry is a result of mutual passion for a game and hatred for the other side. In other words, exactly what we are exhibiting right now. Show me a board dedicated to Louisville or a 5 page post about them in the middle of the offseason and maybe I'll start to think of them as a rival.....
  3. Collin, There is a forum on this board dedicated to USF vs. UCF. About 1/5 posts somehow turns into a USF vs. UCF post - like this one. If you think there isn't a rivalry you're kidding yourself. And I for one think its a good thing, helps bring in fans for both teams and the game last year was a blast. And explain to me the whole arguement that we've only played them once. Vs. 3 times for Louisville - we're not exactly talking about Army vs. Navy here. 1,3, I fail to see a huge difference there.
  4. Consider myself an optomist, but there is no way we get in the top 25 with wins over those first five (the biggest "name" team in that group is Kansas, who was 6-5 last year), none of those teams will be ranked and lets face it, our biggest problem is gaining nation respect. The 9-3 record is certainly possible (though maybe a game or two on the optomistic side) but unless we beat Louisville or WV or go undefeated into the Syracuse game I don't think we'll get the votes. Baby steps.
  5. 23K stadium huh? Not planning on having too many people go see your games I guess....
  6. There would have to big some medical evidence of a downturn in her condition for the NCAA to even consider it. I mean, she's had it since he was in the 5th grade so if he has only now decided he needs to be closer to her after 3 failed season at UF he will need to prove that something has changed.
  7. It's nice to hear how some of you guys have responded to this, I've always thought that our program would never be big time until we stop getting excited about the prospects of guys would couldn't hack it at the big three transferring to USF. That was ok in the first few years of our programs existence but now that we've gone bowling and are in the Big East that needs to end. I would like to think that we have the talent now that if the guy couldn't make it at UF and had issues with the coaches than we simply don't need him.
  8. I expect we will win but it might be a close game and wouldn't be totally shocked if we lost. Yeah, their defense is pretty bad but our offense was nothing to brag about this year and we're losing our best player on that side of the ball in Hall. Should be a great game, but we'll pull it out becuase of the strength of our lines. SK-One - They had lost 16 straight when they played us, they ended up going to a bowl game. And you don't think they improved? And I'm pretty sure that both Memphis and Houston had winning records.
  9. A live bull is a great idea, I can't wait for the Louiseville game and their bright red uniforms.
  10. Ya might also want to check out their current recruiting class before calling them garbage. Hint: its looking really good.
  11. Honestly, considering how the game went, I think I might prefer if less people had watched.
  12. Gee, uh, that didn't take long. I know that we're desperate for a qb, but no, just NO.
  13. Not gonna diss the ACC too much, yeah 1-7, but one of there lower (6-5) teams pulled out a win......
  14. The game looked like a battle of two teams that finished barely above .500. I thought neither team wanted to win the game.
  15. Yeah, he went to Clearwater Central Catholic. Funny thing is he started all '04 and didn't look great but didn't look horrible either then lost his job to Stone who looked pretty bad, not sure I get it.
