beastie, I was thinking the same thing. At 205 he would be the Gerrick Morris of Defensive Ends. This kid either needs to add about 40 pounds or switch positions. He is borderline too light to even play LB let alone the line.

speaking of Gerrick Morris, i saw him today in the Marshall Center, he said hes playing ball over in Europe. still the same quiet kid.  looks about the same, might have put on alittle weight.

I dont care about his weight. On Leavitt and Kravitz love SPEED on defense. They'll find a spot for him.

Cant teach speed.

...

Cant teach speed.

But you can sell it  8)

Seriously, as BloomTown mentioned ... and I was very happy with Allen over the years, especially this past season. I trust in our coaches in evaluating talent. And they look at more than the simple stats we see.

Go BULLS !!!

Jackson is a blazer.  We're also probably going to get a commit from Craig Marshall, he's the 6-5 225lbs DE from the panhandle.

Give the staff a year and both will be around 250lbs.  Jason Allen was 205 when he arrived.  Javon Kearse went to UF a 6-5 215lbs safety, and look where he is today.  We got the transfer Riley from UF, he went to UF around 235lbs, he's a solidly built 290lbs.

The weight doesn't worry me.  Jackson was at the Cali-FL game, and was tearing them up at end, he's a speed guy, legit 4.5, I've heard 4.45 for his 210lbs.

He's listed as running a 4.9.

Those high school combine times are always wierd though, they use the laser system where you have to keep your hand on the switch, and it can mess you up depending on how you like to come out of your stance.

We had a speed coach bring one with him when he spent a week with our track team.  I ran like a 5.1 on it the first few times, but my hand times were consistatly 4.7-4.8

If he catches a QB scrambling or a RB from behind ... he's fast enough  8)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
