From the St.  Pete Times

INCOMING: He'll wait to make it official in person, but Joseph Jackson, a defensive end from Miami Washington, said Wednesday he'll accept a scholarship offer to USF.

"I'm visiting on the 20th, and I plan on committing then," said Jackson, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound end who had 16 sacks for Washington this season. "I just like the atmosphere of the program, and I like the way I can fit into their defense."

Jackson is a teammate of another Bulls' commitment, quarterback Alwan Lee, and said the two have been "best friends since pre-K." They'll both start in this weekend's Dade-Broward all-star game.

Not in the St. Pete Times but of interest,  Jackson played in the Cali-Florida game.

205 lb DE?   Not gonna work.  he's gonna have to become a binge eater.

He will play the same role as Jason Allen. He will get redshirted and they will have him in the weight room constantly.

or the kid could be fast enough to be a linebacker.

One thing Leavitt knows is defensive players. He has had one down year in D since being at USF.

beastie, I was thinking the same thing. At 205 he would be the Gerrick Morris of Defensive Ends. This kid either needs to add about 40 pounds or switch positions. He is borderline too light to even play LB let alone the line.

GM immediatly came to my mind as well.  But he will be a FR, probably a RSFR in two years and in that time they can put a lot of weight on him.  If he was an offensive player I would have more concerns about his development.  Being on the defensive end of it I think he will be just fine.

LB, I'm not so sure about he's been clocked around 4.9. I can see him bulking up and being a good weakside DE. Nice pickup though.
