Guest Sprtsfn627
I was told a couple weeks ago that among the athletic improvements on the USF campus was the creation of a new soccer field/stadium. So that made me wonder, what is happening to the old soccer stadium?I was thinking (and kinda hoping) that USF would use that area for Field Hockey and/or Lacrosse if we ever chose to add those sports. Or maybe we already have plans for that field? Wasn't quite sure, but I figured someone here would be.Just throwing it out there 8)

The plan is to build a new soccer only stadium and practice field where the rec fields are now next to the new athletic complex. There is much more to the plan and we are beginning to have drawings done on the different facilities so that we can begin the fundraising portion of this project. And Cee, there isn't anywhere near enough room to build an on-campus stadium there and still have room for anything else. FSU is trying to take their team to the varsity level. St. Leo is trying to go Div II. USF lacrosse would stomp St. Leo 20-2. I played on the lacrosse team here. We came in 2nd in the SELC Div B in 2003. We got bumped up to Division A two yrs ago and it's been rough. For anyone interested, there is a meeting tonight at the Marshall Center to get signed up for the team. Lot's of newbies, so don't be discouraged if you've never played. They need good athletes, especially some big men who love to hit...www.USFlacrosse.com Here's their schedule so far, they're working on setting more out of conference games: Date Opponent Time  02/04 Florida State University  7:00pm 02/05 Wake Forest 11:00am02/10 Auburn 8:00pm 02/12 ECU (@ UGA )  1:00pm 02/18 Georgia 7:00pm02/26 @ UCF 3:00pm 04/05 @ University of Florida  8:00pm 04/08 Clemson 1:00pm I encourage everyone to come out and support their Bulls, it's such a fun sport to watch. PS - The pic on the upper right corner of the lacrosse site shows me. I'm the good looking one...And no, Herman and Ari didn't play.
