Yes this is life however we all say we want players who WANT to be here, regardless of all of the wealth/notoriety/pub another university might provide.  Well I will say the same about the coach.  I want a coach who WANTS to be here regardless of what another program may pay.  Believe it or not, it is not unheard of for coaches to stay somewhere for less money because that is where they want to be.  How many NE pats took paycuts or didn't file for Free Agency because they love playing in NE?

If a coach wants to have his contract changed everytime someone else offers him a job elsewhere then he sign one year contracts instead a long term deals.

Show some integrity...when you sign a contract...live up to your end of it.

The next time Leavitt gets an offer USF should say live up to your contract or get out of Dodge.

Who's sayig CJL wasn't living up to his contract?  I haven't read anywhere that CJL approached Woolard asking for a raise.  Everything I've seen points to this being intitated by the school.  If you have any info to the contrary, please provide it.

Was he or was he not a candidate for the Kansas State job?

Why did Woolard give Leavitt a new contract, when he was under contract til 2009?

He was mentioned as a candidate.  I don't know how far beyond that it went.

That's what you do.  Coaches get extensions all the time.  Recruits like to see that you have at least 4 years left on your contract.

I'm not saying he ever appraoched Woolard about a raise.  What I am saying is the next time this happens I feel that leavitt should take the Bull by the horns (no pun intended) and come out and quash the whole ordeal by stating, "USF has been very fair with me up to this point.  I will not be leaving to take the HC job at ________ University" or something to this effect.  USF has shown it's loyalty, Leavitt should show his.

So should the AD rewrite a valid contract, every time a coach is mentioned as a possible candidate for another job?

That's what you do.  Coaches get extensions all the time.  Recruits like to see that you have at least 4 years left on your contract.

Wasn't he already under contract for 4 more years?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
