Any half brained fan can find out where tickets are being sold. Maybe the alums who graduated in the first 40 years don't feel an allegiance to the football program. If they did, USF would have at least 60k fans at every home game because there are a lot of alumni living in the area. Anyway, this will all change in the future because today's students are going to be hooked for the long run IMO. Each year, I have noticed on how well the enthusiasm has grown from the students.
