Booo, that would really stink for fans wanting to go.

Because of the date? I’d probably be more willing to blow off my plans to go somewhere that isn’t awful, I hear Hawaii is a nice Christmas location.

It's quite a haul unless you are staying for a while.  Hawaii is very nice though.

Originally I wanted USF vs UCF in the Gasparilla bowl. The more I think about it, I would rather the team travel and play anyone else.

This is where I am as well.  I want these guys to get a cool trip to somewhere else.  As far as having the chance to beat central again someday, I almost feel 100% certain that we will play these idiots again someday.  There's too much money to be made on the game between ticket sales and tv revenue.  They'll figure out how to play that game from time to time, but I don't think we need to do it this year.

I’d be interested to hear what the players prefer…a low attendance game in Hawaii against a random opponent or a sold out stadium in Florida against our arch rival.

Im going with the latter.

You're assuming that 65,000 people want to see USF - UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl?

John you must be forgetting about the hospitality/fast food crowd.  This is real big for them.  They'll take a shift off.

Yes. Checked baggage and boarding passes. Celebrate shaking off the past four years. Get some sort of reward other than driving across town.

I hope this is the case.  First of all, bowl games don't mean ****, unless you win.  Then you can boast on beating a disinterested opponent.  Reward the players with something other than staying home.  That doesn't sell.

Maybe I am just jaded but it does not seem that bad to me, its not Oceana or Asia, from Tampa to Hawaii is like flying to Western Europe.

No doubt that if I was a player I would prefer going to Hawaii.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
