GAME DAY vs. Memphis

USF returns from its lone bye week of the season, getting a break from a nearly three-month stretch of fall camp and eight games to begin the season. With four regular season games remaining – two at home –the Bulls are in position to earn a bowl bid for the first time since 2018.

TURN-AROUND, BRIGHT EYES: USF has posted four wins, equaling the program’s combined win total over the previous three seasons (4-29), and a three-win improvement over 2022 (1-11). It equals the second-best, year-over-year improvement in program history, previously achieved three times - last in 2016. The USF record is a four-win improvement posted between 2014 (4-8) and 2015 (8-5). It marks the greatest, and also only, win improvement for a first-year head coach compared to the year prior in program history, and Alex Golesh's four wins are now the fourth-best total in a USF coach’s first season, trailing Charlie Strong (10-2, team went 11-2 in year prior), Skip Holtz (8-5, even with win total from year prior) and Jim Leavitt (5-6, first year of program).

RECORD PURSUITS: QB Byrum Brown is on pace for a top three total offense season at USF, and, if the Bulls were to make a bowl game, he could challenge one or both of Quinton Flowers top two program marks (4,342 in 2016 and 3,989 in 2017). Brown is also on pace for a top five passing season at USF, and, with a bowl game, he could challenge to become the first 3,000-yard passer in program history and eclipse the program passing record of 2,911 yards set by Quinton Flowers in 2017 and Matt Grothe in 2008.  WR Sean Atkins, former walk-on who has worked his way into a leading role, has made at least four catches in every game this season and stands No. 3 in the AAC (17th nationally) making 6.2 catches per game. With 51 catches, he is on his way to doubling his four-year career total (29) entering the season and needs just 16 more to break the eight-year program season record of 67 set by Rodney Adams in 2016.

WRIGHT STUFF: Running back Nay’Quan Wright posted his second-staight and third overall 100-yard rushing game of the season (3rd career) in the Bulls last outing at UConn. His 186 yards at UConn are the most by an AAC player on the season and gave him 590 rushing yards on the season, challenging his career four-year total at Florida, where he played in 33 games, logging 189 carries for 753 yards and five touchdowns
