velcro,

And dont forget that Grothe can kick too. You can bet that Leavitt would love to use that wrinkle in his game Matt does get the job ala Marquel Blackwell. No way does Grothe go down without a fight.

With players missing because of exams, Leavitt said he is taking a closer look at others such as quarterback Matt Grothe, who "looked really, really good."

I think that if Grothe wins the job, we'd be in good hands.  Think about it, I know Julmiste isn't great, but he has 3 years experience.  We've seen a preview of Hill and he looks like he could be really good soon.  Point is, if Grothe is the starter, he'd have to be something special to beat out those 2 guys.

Depends on your definition of special, I guess.  PJ is pathetic and C4's stats aren't too impressive.

Three or four years ago, I might have argued that statement.   But the way we played the last two seasons, you are probably right.

Be gentle.

it seems like some USF fans are still programed to think that just because you have a returning starter in college football that this starter is a lock at starting again.  it happens all the time in major college football when a prized recruit comes in and takes a job away from someone.

just because PJ is a returning senior with the most experience does not mean he is a sure thing to start.  PJ was recruited at a different time in this program.  he has some natural talent but not much game speed QB talent.

It'd be interesting if we enjoy the Bowl game and get our home-and-home on for yet another on Tobacco Road. Plus I'll get to go to the Triangle and check out the Bulls twice, at both Carolina and State.

Just a couple of reminders that those "whipping boys" can put up more of a fight than expected.

McNeese St was one of the top teams in I-AA a few years ago, I don't know what kind of shape they're in nowadays but you can't look at this as a sure walkover.

Banks lost his starting job only because he had lead in his shoes.  Do we still have Charleston Southern on our speed dial in case we need a last second game?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
