I say you need to make a move.

Time to fire Billy Mohl after two straight losing seasons and going far below 0.500 this year. AD Mk probably will extend him though.

See ya. We let Kingston walk over a few hundred K. Baseball is one of the few sports that gets a massive return on investment. When you've got a guy crushing it, you spend the extra chump change to keep him. Kingston left for literally fractions of a percent of our athletic budget. Not a few percent... he got a raise of less than 0.5% of our total budget.

We pay Mohl about $300k less than we could have paid Kingston.

Think about what we pay xCBG and xCJS. We balked at $300k for Kingston.

Kingston makes 600K.  Mohl around 200k all in.  Kingston was slightly less than that.  I'm sure the coaches pool is bigger at USC as well and there are additional benefits when it comes to facilities and recruiting at an SEC school vs. an aac school.

We were paying Kingston $140k and he left for $475k. So we let him walk for $335k and then paid Mohl more than we were paying Kingston? We're fine paying a totally unproven Mohl 50% more than we were paying Kingston, who was knocking it out of the park at every stop he was at... way to go?

We paid Mohl 150K, then another 50K in addtional income ... my guess is Kingston got similar additional income.  But even then we aren't paying a baseball coach 500K and even then your not South Carolina

Maybe with the "new commitment" to athletics we'll pay a baseball coach more and they will see the opportunity to build a program that can compete with P5 schools or even believe that we will be in that arena sooner than later ....... 🙏

But, we're definitely paying Mohl more than we paid Kingston. Correct?

probably ... 5 years later.  I'm sure if Kingston would have stayed for 200K total we would have been glad to give it to him

So we let Kingston walk and then decided to pay Mohl 50% more than we were paying Kingston? Did our AD really look at the college baseball landscape and think this was good money spent?
