After following some of the posts on this board, I really felt the urge to share some thoughts with some of these Monday morning QB’s posting here.

It is somewhat ironic to see that a week after people we ready to give Coach Leavit a lifetime contract, the tide has changed and now people want him to take the KSU job. Or better yet let’s fire the OC because of incompetence, even though the offense has to rely on second string players. What do you guys expect? Play UConn, on the road nevertheless, and run those Huskies out of their own stadium? Here is a newsflash. FSU ain’t that good and neither are you. It is not the X’s & O’s but the Moe’s & Joe’s that make plays work. I don’t care who is calling the O, bring in Charlie Weiss or Norm Chow and with no players they get as much done as Smith.

The BCS hype is amusing too, since all this talk would have not taken place if USF would have played WVU as scheduled. Folks, it is your first year in a BCS Conference, you will end the season with a winning record despite a truly challenging schedule, and people have the nerve to call for peoples heads. It is people like those that ruin our profession. So next time you spend your valuable free time with creating a truly pathetic web page like firerodsmith.com how about trying to sellout.raymondjames.com, so that maybe next year your school will go bowling…

Yours truly,

Hey Coach, you're full of it.  Don't tell me FSU does not have a lot of talent, they just don't have talent in the coaching ranks.

USF has a lot of talent on offense, just not at QB.  Oh and I don't think it was the "moes and joes" that called the last two abortion plays.

Ding ding ding!  Give the UCFer a prize!

Moe and Joe didn' call a rushed snap AND a double-reverse inside the ten instead of giving the ball to the BIG EAST's leading rusher.

That's not moe and joe, that's coaching, and it cost us a chance at the BE title.  Rod must go.

Yours truly,

While I agree with some of your post I'm a bit confused when you say "people like those that ruin our profession" ....... "Our profession"?? Are you a professional Internet Message Board Poster? ........... Any openings?

I was a little suspect of this post, particulary the reference to the "moes and joes" where blame is shifted to the players and away from coaches.  Leaders take blame for things that fail and share praise when successful.

I have to admit I have always liked how Spurrier would accept responsibility for a loss by stating staff "didn't coach 'em up well".

While i realize that a lot has to with the players, unfurtunately is also part of the coaching profession to produce or get replaced. Fans have gotten used to the 1 year turn arounds and expect the same from their coaches.

While i realize that an assistant coach at a program like USF doesnt make much. When you see Head coaches making 400,000 and more a year is hard for the avg Joe making 1/10 of that buying tickets to feel sorry if he doesnt produce.

I remember an old coach of mine telling me if you go into coaching be ready to get fired because it will happen, at least now a days the compensation is a lot better than in the old days.

Although the opinions on this board are extremely inflamed this week, I gotta give "PBC" the award for his last line....     So called fans this week said A LOT of stupid things, myself included. Selling your tix, and threatening into not supporting the team is ridiculous.

The only thing that we (as BULL fans) could do, and SHOULD do is be there for our team through the good and bad. Sure I don't like losing to U-conn, Hell I didn't like losing to Miami... But you know what, S#!T happens and good teams lose...  sux huh?

Being fans, we truly only have two options. Continue to wear the GREEN & GOLD or not. It's up to US to make this team great, so I plead with all of the bashers to re-focus and get back to the job at hand.  Next week we all have a very imporntant job to do. Now more than ever we can show the rest of the world how we can bounce back instead of crumbling. Now, get out there and sharpen your horns.

And as ALWAYS... GO BULLS !!!
