USF Baseball Weekend Series vs. Brown

Great game today for the Bulls.  Kerkering pitched great.  Used to see him come out of the bullpen.  Things might be changing though, as Hunter Mink is making a play to be our closer.  If so it makes Kerkering a starter and makes us better.  The hitters showed up today and Drew Brutcher hit 2 big homers and was 4-5 on the say.  The other big news was Nick Gonzales returned from his suspension and had a hit and the defensive play of the game to end it with a spectacular double play.  Go Bulls!

We had a blast at the game.  Great pitching, hitting by Brutcher (horse whinny) and a spectacular game-ending double play.

Like JoeB said, looks like CBM is setting up Orion to be the Sunday starter and Hunter Mink to be the closer. To me, that's the best weekend rotation possible - Jasiak, Lord, Kerkering. That could be the best group of weekend starters we've had in a long time. Hemmenway has also been terrific as the set-up guy, taking over the role Logan Lyle had last year. Joseph Sanchez has been really inconsistent. We need him to get back to form. If he does, that looks like a really good, reliable group of arms. And there's a ton of potential in the young guys, too -- Grause, Vega, Dietz, etc.

Update, Ruiz and Pena apparently are still on the team.  Hearing conflicting stories, but was told today they are still on roster.
