Question about FAMU

Hey guys, I was talking with a friend of mine today about the FAMU game and we didn't know if a win would count towards making it to a bowl game, anyone know if they qualify??

I don't think they do. IIRC, they have to average 65 scholarships for like 3 or 4 years to qualify.

I'm pretty sure you can count a Division 1 AA win every four years for bowl consideration.  In other words if they use it this year to be bowl eligible (the sixth win), they can't use another Division 1 AA win the next three years.  I believe this to be correct, but maybe someone else can confirm.

but then what about a couple of years ago when we coulda used one where we only needed one more win to qualify?

I think that year we had two Division 1 AA wins, so we couldn't count them both.  And the one year we got screwed entirely.

I believe they changed that to every year, last year.

You can use one 1AA now every year as long as they meet the scholarship requirement which FAMU does.
