I don't think we'll end up playing both of those UF games. I know Leavitt doesn't want us to schedule any more "pay" games and he can't be too happy having them away two years in a row. I think we'll put the Miami game in one of those years instead. That's just a hunch.

Wow, I almost had to check to make sure I was on the right board.  I can't believe everyone is willing to reserve judgement until ALL the facts are out.   ...

We're just curious, it's known that we need games and just replying (I'm guessing someone did soince it was reported that the offer was refused) with a no, would hope for the reason.

I don't buy the distance issue ... would we turn down Stanford or San Diego St.

???

Go BULLS !!!

Remember we had only five home games this year. Every other BE team has at least six.

We already have five away games scheduled for 2006.

We need home games to get us to six.

It's more than likely that Minn wanted us to play the first game there and we aren't in a position to do that. That's just a guess.

Maybe I'm missing something but I count 10 games ALREADY scheduled and we only need one, not two as was reported in the Trib:

2006

Out Of Conference

H Sept. 2  Fla. International

A Sept. 16 at UCF

A Sept. 23 at North Carolina

Conference:

H Connecticut

H Pittsburgh

H Rutgers

H Syracuse

A at Cincinnati

A at Louisville

A at West Virginia

Is that correct?

I'll buy that "guess" Howie, but just wish they would have given a reason.

Oh,i I just realized that the NCAA recently voted to ALLOW 12 games, so Brett is accurate.

So, we could still schedule 1- home and 1- away to get to six each. There goes my theory.  ;D

I think the 12 game season becomes permanent starting next season.

Actually....they were pretty horrible in the 90's...

gotta relize, that's lotsabull's version of humor.

I can see where the Gophers would like a nice trip to Florida, but I'm questioning exactly what it is we get from a trip to Minnesota. It'd be interesting to know what factors went into the decisioin, but I doubt that's going to be made public.  Ain't happenin'...move on....next contestant please....

but who are the next contestants to play us next year.  :P

I do have faith in Woolard, shown a great job in landing us a great schedule for 2005.

I am sure Woolard has Charleston Southern on speed dial if he needs a game next year ;D
