Per the print edition of today's Trib.  I couldn't find the online article.  I've retyped it below (with a sidenote):

Shaeffer to Announce Where He's Transferring Today

Former Tennessee quarterback Brent Schaeffer will announce where he will transfer today, his stepfather, Adolph Lewis, said Sunday night.

Lewis said Schaeffer is down to three schools, but "Brent doesn't want me to say which ones."  Lewis did confirm the University of South Florida is amoung Schaeffer's three finalists.

[he doesn't want me to say what they are together, but I'll tell you what they are one at a time]

Last week Lewis said Schaeffer was considering USF, Clemson, North Carolina and Texas A&M and disputed a report he had already picked Clemson.

Schaeffer, who started three games as a freshman at Tennessee last season, must sit out the 2005 season and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Tigers Illustrated is reporting that Clemson passed on Schaeffer...

The Tigers just recruited another high quality Junior QB for the 2006 and that they won't be recruiting any more QBs for the 2006 season...

http://clemson.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=438380

"Last week, as first reported by TigersIllustrated.com, Clemson passed on former Tennessee quarterback and would-be transfer Brent Schaeffer of Deerfield Beach, Fla.

Schaeffer was set to announce for Clemson, but was notified that is pledge would not be accepted due to the coaching staff moving in another direction."

i would think rivals would be on top of that, but i guess if it is a press conference, any of the newspapers of the 3 schools competing could feasibly have it first.

Clemson passed on him because they are going to be loaded at QB after this incoming class (or somethign to that effect... read it on another board).
