Guest Sprtsfn627
"What disturbs me the most is that ESPN is brokering football series"I agree...that is very telling.  People complain about the BCS, but the amount of influence on TV games that ABC/ESPN has, they have become just as much of a monopoly.BTW, does anyone have the future out of conference schedule for Miami? Here is what it says:CHATTER• For the NCAA's new 12th football game, UM plans to add Florida A&M (at the Orange Bowl) in 2006, and ESPN is working on arranging a series with Oklahoma in 2007 (at the OB) and 2009 (in Norman). The Gators are tentatively on UM's 2008 schedule -- at a site yet to be determined.http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/11933006.htm

Also remember that is more important for us to sign the series than it is to them so i doubt the buy out was very large or they would just sign someone else. What i hope we do is work with ESPN to get that game to happen and be televised as ive stated before UM has agreed to that before the sad part for our fans would be that the game would probably be a thursday or fri night. Guest S. Bien
I thought I read that part of the court settlement for Vtech, BC, and Miami's departure was they had to play a few Big East teams in football. I only see Louisville on that list, and they've still got a lot of room to expand that schedule since every year now they can have three OOC. Basically they've got two openings a year for the foreseeable future. It's more likely that we agree to by-pass the required 2006 rematch for them to garner a big pay day, and grab a 2007 or 2008 visit when both years Miami already has two out-of-conference opponents at home and could easily sustain 1 away then add an FAMU, or Latech type opponent at home.
