On Friday morning, the NCAA voted to approve the creation of an early signing period for high school prospects to sign their National Letter of Intent in December. This new signing period will coincide with the current 72-hour Junior College signing period. Prospects will still be able to sign a Letter of Intent in the current February signing period. https://twitter.com/NCAA/status/852890428772888576 In January, the NCAA DI Football Oversight Committee gave the approval for the December signing period to go to a vote, though they did not approve a proposed June signing window. Although the NCAA has approved the December signing period, the Conference Commissioners Association, who manages the National Letter of Intent program, still needs to approve the measure. http://www.scout.com/college/football/story/1770783-ncaa-approves-december-cfb-signing-period

I've been more in favor of an early signing period in the fall. December really is going to kill programs that change coaches. Tough enough to change coaches and gear up for a February signing period. How do you get kids to sign early when your head coach was hired two days or two weeks earlier? And then I realized DJ doesn't need a council; he's THE MAN. Q: Has this been allowed by D'Ernest Johnson?
