Points are given for all regular season athletics offered within the American Conf. If you don't play the sport or you don’t play in the American, you get 0 points, so everyone who plays gets at least 1.

If you win you get the number of points equivalent to the number of teams. Hence in women’s basketball there are 11 teams, so as conference champs, UConn gets 11 pts, as runner-up USF gets 10 and so on. If there is a tie the average place of the tied teams is used. So if two teams tied for first in a twelve team sport they would both get 11.5 points.

Additional points are granted for post-season conference tournaments (Soccer, Basketball, Softball, Baseball) Each win/bye  in a conference tourney gets you an extra point.

No points are awarded for NCAA tournaments. Why? Because this is the American Cup not the ‘let’s compare ourselves to the rest of the exclusionary NCAA’ cup.

Current standings are as follows

All Fall & Winter Sports included:
UConn 94.5
Tulsa 77.5

Cincinnati 70.5

Temple 70
USF 66

Memphis 57
SMU* 55.5

Do you have a link to these standings or just calculated yourself? I am curious to see how UConn has such a large lead.

Also what is up with our Cross Country and Track and Field teams, thought we'd have some athletes to do better in these sports?

Spring sports. They're not included, yet. Those sports saved our bacon, last season.

The fat lady hasn't even warmed up.

I normally start that update with

"Since there is no American Cup I am starting one. I don't care if you don't care so don't go on about how you don't care. I am bored at work today so this is what I did. "

But since this is my 5th update it was getting kind of old. But yes, i calculate these myself.

As far as UConn goes

·         Football – T6th in standings – 6.5 pts

·         Men’s Soccer – 3nd in standings & AAC Tourn. App & 2 Wins – 9 pts

·         Women’s Soccer – 1st in standings & AAC Tourn. App & 1 Wins – 12 pts

·         Volleyball – 4th in standings – 7 pts

·         MXCountry – 2nd place in Championship – 9 pts

·         WXCountry – 3rd place in Championship – 9 pts

·         Men’s Basketball - 5th in standings & AAC Tourn. App,/Bye & 3 Wins – 11 pts

·         Women’s Basketball – 1st in standings & AAC Tourn. App/Bye & 3 Wins – 16 pts

·         Men’s Swimming – 6th place in Championship – 1 pt

·         Women’s Swimming – 4th place in Championship – 1 pt

·         Men’s Indoor T&F – 4th place in Championship – 4 pts

·         Women’s Indoor T&F – 2nd place in Championship – 10 pts

And yes, spring is our strong season, Last year we were 4th overall in Spring Sports behind UCF(3rd place overall), Houston(7th place overall) and Tulsa (American Cup Champion).

Also last year at this juncture we had 55 pts of our total 98 (56%), this year 66 puts us on pace for 118pts which last year would be good for 3rd.
