  1. If only AW, If Only... Great If only "thread count" won Heisman's !
  2. Route looks perfect (I just drove it 2 weeks ago) but just to clarify for other drivers you don't normally drive "through" Rockford to get to Madison. Your really just taking the by-pass around the outside of Rockford. Not sure of the exact signage but from I-39 --> Route 20 East --> I-90 North to WI. Don't make the mistake and head East on I-90 or you'll have a nice visit to Chicago. If you want to see some of Rockford (for some odd reason or maybe just want a food/piss'r/stretch break before getting onto I-90) just take Route 20 West and get off on the Rockford Alpine Rd exit, then follow Alpine Rd (North) to East State Street (the Dale Mabry of Rockford) take a right (East) and you will eventually come up to an on-ramp for I-90 North. Fast food on Alpine Rd (BeefARoo (local version of Arby's) and Taco John's) and more chain restaurants on East State Street. "The Stone Tavern Eagle", Culvers (I'd go here for a quick travel bite) and Lino's Pizza are all on E. State Street. The cops were in the usual spots (tops of bridges shooting laser down and way up on on/off-ramps) in GA and were a little heavy in IL up until Rockford. IL had lots of construction zones with reduced speed and LOTs of speed boxes that make your radar detector go off very often. Careful on 39....State Troopers like to hide in the tall median grass especially when you start getting closer to Rockford. Travel safe!
  3. Was a super fan in his 1st year but in my opinion he's the Lynch of the offense...so much talent but the effort seems <100%
  4. I'm in the planning stages for hopefully making it up to the big game. I'm originally from IL so I'll give a little insight for people travelling up to the game..... If your doing a 4 day trip and flying into Milwaukee....Drive from Milwaukee to Madison for the day/night before the game and of course game day/night. Then if your bringing your spouse maybe venture for a romantic day/night in Lake Geneva, WI. Then drive back to Milwaukee for a day/night since you'd be flying out here. Or....just stay in Madison the whole time, enjoy the college town/area and party hearty ! ROCKFORD: ============ I lived in Rockford for 21 years....I wouldn't recommend staying there or spending anytime there unless you want a half way point between Madison and Chicago/O'Hare Airport. If that's the case the "Clock Tower Inn" is the hotel that has been there for years and seems to be popular for Chicago'ian's since it right off of I-90 (I-90 and E. State St ). There are a few other newer hotels in the same area. If you do happen venture there check out Japanese Gardens (with spouse only), Aldeen Golf Course (excellent course - play it from the tips!) and the Irish Rose Saloon (older local joint - my fav) or Stone Eagle Tavern (newer restaurant) or the Rockford Brewing Company (haven't been there yet) or eat at the local spot for pizza at Lino's. Culver's for frozen custard. Breakfast with the locals (Swedes) at the Stockholm Inn. Rockford Airport....skip it (locals don't even fly into it. I believe HOOTERS air used to (maybe still do?) fly into there), similar but smaller than St. Pete Airport. For this game definitely fly into Milwaukee Airport. If your going to be Chicago bound on the tail end of the game/trip then possibly O'hare or Midway. Milwaukee Airport is very nice....similar to Tampa Airport MADISON or MILWAUKEE ====================== Of course this is the area most people want suggestions but I haven't been to Madison or Milwaukee much so I don't want to BS as I can't give solid recommendations. Both are fun towns in there own right and you'll have no problem having a good time...just ask the locals were to go. Lake Geneva, WI (more of a with a spouse area): ======================================== IF you are with your *spouse* and you want a quaint lake area with small shops, restaurants and the lake check out Lake Geneva, WI, here are my recommendations for that area: Lake Geneva, WI: Hotel's: ------------------------------------------------- The Abbey Resort http://www.theabbeyresort.com/ * NOT walking distance to town restuarants/bars/shops Grand Geneva Resort and Spa http://www.grandgeneva.com/ * NOT walking distance to town restuarants/bars/shops 2 hotels right around the corner/next to Gino's East Pizza and 1 hotel between Gino's East and part of the the "Schil..." bar tavern restaurant. Lake Geneva, WI: Restaurants: ------------------------------------------ Tuscany Tavern & Grill http://www.thetuscantavernandgrill.com/ * recommended by many * I'd go here Anthony's Steak House http://www.anthonyssteakhouselg.com/ * recommended by many Pier 290 ( in neighboring "Williams Bay, WI" ) http://pier290.com/ https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x8805f5c8fe90d7e9:0x3abd5bb65ebe8800!2m5!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i100!3m1!7e1!4shttps://plus.google.com/100946361845230144515/photos?hl%3Den%26socfid%3Dweb:lu:kp:placepageimage%26socpid%3D1!5spier+290+-+Google+Search&sa=X&ei=Ubi5U-nPD5KiyASil4KYAQ&ved=0CJ0BEKIqMAo * recommended by many * Busy/make reservation...I'd go here Gino's East (Pizza) http://www.ginoseastlakegeneva.com/ * Famous Chicago Pizza (unique deep dish) * I'd go here Popeye's http://www.popeyeslkg.com/home * Lake Geneva "fish fry" staple...used to be good not sure anymore * Friday is "all you can eat fish fry night" * Check the hours, closes at 10pm Bar: -------------------------- Champs Sports Bar & Grill http://www.champslakegeneva.com/ DOOR COUNTY, WI ================== For an extended trip/vacation, with a New England flare, with your *spouse* I'd highly recommend DOOR COUNTY, WI http://doorcounty.com/ CHICAGO ================== Of course you can never go wrong with Chicago ! * Michigan Ave * Rush St. * Bears game * Lot's of Museums * Gino's Pizza * Hancock / Sears Tower / Trump Tower ( have a drink on the top) * glass floor viewing perch * Architecture River/boat Cruise http://www.architecture.org/rivercruise * Navy Pier * Lincoln Park "yuppie area"
  5. What was he thinking......3:40AM @ Hyde Park Avenue South and Platt Street West.......a known cop DUI patrol area and hanging out with the young kids! Probably drove the wrong way on a one-way but those cops tail you and pull you over for anything.
  6. How fitting.....Straub quit just like Lynch quit on the team last year.
  7. Well there is the fact that AL complained pubicly about the food which is part of straub' s purvey. This all after he left ND to come home to his sweetness. Add on top of that he was taking Adderal which ACTUALLY kept him from gaining weight. I'm backing Straub pretty far on this one. That being said, you have to remember who the boss is I believed he said 'he wasn't a fan of usf's meal plan'. Which inferences negative but has no obvious negative connotation. He could have blamed himself but that almost never helps in sports or politics. http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/transcript-49ers-newest-lb-aaron-lynch You say you didn’t drop weight, but you lost weight. What caused you to lose that weight? “I was on Adderall. I was prescribed Adderall. That’s all. And it just quenched my eating habit, my appetite. I just wasn’t eating much so I dropped weight.†Are you still on Adderall? “No sir.†That was during the year that you sat out? “Yes sir.†How much weight did you drop? What was the lightest you were? “I would have to say the lightest probably 240, 241.â€
  8. Drink....only natural and fitting to have one called: "(The) Golden Brahman" Or maybe: "Bull Spit"
  9. About as much sense as the University of San Francisco with a picture of Tampa Bay in the background.
  10. We are not a top tier AAC team until we are We ARE a top tier ACC team...at least until the 2nd game of 2015 ! based on what? not in basketball or football the other sports really dont matter Based on every year is a fresh start and all the teams start 0-0, now what happens after game 1 that's a whole different story.

  12. How is this even a question? Of course someone can be worse than Stan. See, he can coach..... ...on a serious note I LIKE THIS HIRE!
  13. It was against our defense which makes any QB look like a HOF'r our defense was ranked 21st in the country last year. Nancie, do you know anything about this team? http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/22 Yes Alice, as a season ticket holder who went to every game and watched all the games on TV I know that stat's don't always tell the truth. We lost by large margins to McNeese State, FAU, Miami, Louisville, Houston and Rutgers....all offensive powerhouses. Our D was better this year than last but still couldn't keep mediocre teams from moving the ball and scoring....period. When the opposition knows we can't score and make stupid mistakes the opposing offense didn't need to do anything special, but hey hey we had a great defense. They also held one of the most explosive offenses in the country in SMU to 16 points (three points with the starting QB in) and forced a potential #1 overall NFL draft pick into one of his two second half interceptions that he had all season. Our offense was giving up all sorts of ridiculous defensive touchdowns early in the year that contributed to the huge margins of defeat. Good points. I just didn't see the same defense as pre-Holtz years past. To me, Bresnahan was the surprising star of our defense. Hey, I continue to support my Bulls and see Willie turning this around and things are looking up especially with the awesome recruiting class.

  16. Whiff #2 Doesn't matter as long as you get a hit before strike #3
  17. To bad Phil Jackson took on the Knicks front office job.
  18. EXACTLY....USF never announced the signing, it was the other outlets that jumped the gun and announced before the final steps of the process were complete.
  19. Hopefully he left the parking boot otherwise it's a felony....
  20. Count me as one. +1 here ....Along with the grandfathered low Donation $ Level !
