  1. Interesting how you can classify an entire sporting fan base from your living room. That’s not ignorant at all.
  2. Stock car racing has technology that tells officials when a pit crew member steps on the pit box line, essentially meaning out of bounds. Meanwhile, we have refs spotting balls based on judgement, and grown men throwing a red hanky on the field if they disagree with a call. I love both sports, but come on now.
  3. Ironically, stock car racing is probably the least "low brow" sport in the US. How many engineers are involved in teaching the air raid offense? Or teaching how to box out? Don't worry, I'll wait.
  4. RB coach = recruiter. Interested to see what he can do on the trail.
  5. Arm strength isn’t typically something that just develops overnight. Especially not in your third year in a program. McCloud will be a solid back up for us, but I’ll be shocked if he ends up starting.
  6. Correct. Quite a few RPO’s, but also a zone focused running game. This is what I’m most excited about.
  7. Really hoping for the Weis & Spencer duo at this point
  8. Clemson is a unicorn in the modern era of recruiting. They are very selective in their offer process (even compared to the Bama’s of the world), they rarely ever have a decommit/flip, and they almost never go the Juco/Portal route. One thought process is that we could get the guys that CJS has been evaluating, but maybe couldn't quite offer him at Clemson. I’m sure the staff evaluates the same amount of kids as other programs, but it’s hard to guess what guys would fit in this category because they don’t extend non-commitable offers. I have to imagine he had some connection with Gray Academy because Hunter Helms and Dollison came out of no where
  9. Mac Harris is my favorite of this class. I think this kid has a chance to make an immediate impact. Outside of that, mehhh
  10. Not to mention the opportunity for Streeter to call plays. It doesn't appear likely, but I'd love it if CJS could snag him.
  11. From the guys I've been around, it all stems from ego. Their ego keeps them from learning new systems/philosophies that can help their program.
  12. Could not agree more. The worst part is it usually comes down to ego. This is why I couldn't stand CCS. Any human with common sense could've taken a step back and said, this team just needs a little help on defense and they'll be on their way. CCS ego couldn't let him do just that. He couldn't have a high flying offense that he didn't understand. In this sport, ego from the top ruins more teams than anything else.
  13. FWIW, Kerwin Bell was the highest rated recruiter per 247 for USF and the entire AAC prior to the house cleaning
  14. This is a weird hill to die on, but cool. I’ll swing back by in 12 months and see how you’re feeling
  15. To be fair, can you name a move that CCS made that turned out to be successful?
  16. Definitely disappointed that we are going to miss on Tate, but I agree that Jordan Smith looks like a prototypical USF QB. Between him and Evans, we should have a decent group of dual threat guys should we (hopefully) go that route. I still think there's an above average chance that Chase Brice transfers in as well. Not a terrible QB room given the situation.
  17. I don’t think he knows any other way. Plus, his respect for MK is too strong to not make this a priority. We don’t know for sure if he will make a successful HC, but we do know it won’t be for a lack of effort and commitment. I can live with that
  18. Our 2020 starter will be one of Chase Brice or Tate Rodemaker
  19. You have to realize how dysfunctional the FSU athletic department is at the moment. It’s hard to even put into words. There’s no way Jeff Scott would’ve went there. Not because he doesn’t respect the program as a whole, but he’s not going to jump into an Admin & PR dumpster fire with an AD that he has no experience with. CWT was only focused on rushing to the finish line, winning a national title. CJS is not that way at all. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that’s his goal, but there are other factors at play. For him to leave Clemson, it had to be the perfect situation - - Somewhere his family felt comfortable - Good relationship with Admin/AD - A place that he has recruiting connections - Dabo’s blessing USF was the perfect match. Will he leave eventually? Yeah, of course. But let’s celebrate the fact that a well thought of coach looked at our program and said, I’m willing to leave the place I love to go there. I feel good about that program. Enough praise can’t be shouted MK’s way for creating that amidst what was a failure on the field. Everyone, do yourselves a favor and stop worrying about 3 years down the road. Celebrate the job MK has done and that this PROGRAM as a whole is where it is.
  20. If anyone in this profession were to do it, it would be the Clemson guys. They value family and fit over dollars and facilities. The reason he is here and not elsewhere is Michael Kelly. Every good coach knows he must have the right AD in order to build a sustainable culture and environment.
  21. I’ll be surprised if we aren’t contending for a conference title by 2021 at the latest. It’s been proven that you can rapidly change your trajectory in this conference - UCF, SMU, and even USF once we switched offenses. I have a good feeling that we can get Chase Brice to transfer down with CJS. If we can also land Rodemaker and Smith, that’s a much improved QB room. I wouldn’t be totally surprised if others transferred in as well.....guys like TJ Chase and Regan Upshaw come to mind. There isn’t one player that we can plug in and fix all of the OL issues, but my hope is that through development and scheme adjustments, we can at least get average play up front.
  22. It’s been reported that Kelly was at the Clemson game on Saturday, and they spoke Saturday night. In fact, I read somewhere that Scott was making calls letting his recruits know on Sunday morning. My guess is Scott was plan A all along, but he stayed out of their way to allow them to game prep during the week out of respect
