  1. I mean, it wasn’t bad when he was doing what the guy we had before did. But when he tried to put his own stamp on things, it got really repetitive and predictable.
  2. Lawyers probably trying to get USF to pay some salary because “he was told to look for new work”. We should find out who else got that talk when Sterlin announces who he is bringing with him. Lets hope CCS can do some serious damage with the new assistants pool.
  3. Dino Babers & Phillip Montgomery. Sterlin was a muppet
  4. I see your point. That quote still makes me laugh. I don’t believe this move is a fix all given the conservative mentality in game/clock management, but I do think the new OC will have more flexibility in running the show on their side of the ball
  5. I agree that the new hire is as important as getting rid of SG. To the point of him serving his master....unless CCS told him not to watch any film on the most explosive offense in program history, I have my relative doubts on this theory
  6. Yeah, good chance this was established during a meeting with Kelly & CCS. Something along the lines of, I’ll give Sterlin until the 21st to find a new job. Start looking for your replacement now
  7. We can only hope to be so lucky. Take Charlie to be DC while you’re at it
  8. If his “style” was successful it would. The problem is he’s simply not a very good HC. He’s a glorified Randy Shannon at this point
  9. As much as I want to believe things can be fixed with a fresh OC, the benching of Mazzi Wilkins in favor of Jaymon Thomas at boundary CB still has me pissed off. Mazzi has been lock down and you replace him with a tight hipped, back up FS for 2 inches. He then gives up 2 TDs and you go back to your #1 CB
  10. Charlie did this with Bedford at Texas mid-season, however it was CCS taking over the reins as “DC” and simply moving Bedford back to a position coach. I agree, this would be less than ideal and likely would result in much change schematically. The issue on that side of the ball is much deeper than simply moving a couple of pawns around. This is a philosophical issue
  11. I have the feeling they don’t want to get rid of him. I truly think this is going to be the classic CCS “demotion” play where King and Gilbert switch spots, a guy like Burke gets the axe and we bring in a new ST guy.
  12. How many plays did we call to neutralize the pass rush? Screens, Draws, Swings, etc This isn’t an And/Or deal. The OL sucked and so did the OC.
  13. I still can’t believe he hasn’t been fired. Not because I thought we had the cojones to do so, but because of how blantantly awful he has been
  14. Gotcha. Have to think the thought process at this point is to let King take over. Wouldn’t be surprised if CCS simply demoted Sterlin and let King take over playcalling duties while keeping the staff in tact. Would be par for the CCS course
  15. He should be given some snaps in the bowl game. Get him some game experience
  16. Doesn’t Sterlins contract run out at the end of the month? If so, we are probably looking at a non-renewal and Shaun King being promoted internally
  17. I would 100% give CCS credit for being aggressive, just as I have in similar situations previously. The issues is the types of plays we call in these situations.
  18. This guy should be on our radar. I’d be happy with him, Scott, Monken, Locksley, or Neal Brown
  19. People keep pointing to the comparison with CWT and CCS entering his 3rd year. The difference is CWT is an offensive guy and is aggressive by nature. CCS is the complete opposite. As long as he’s the HC this is going to be a defensive minded team that hangs its hat on winning ugly. There’s a zero % chance he will let an OC have free reign in building an offense.
  20. He’s the CEO and he’s allowed his offense to be behind the 8 ball schematically for 2 years. How about kneeling on the ball before half and playing not to lose? Continuing to try and corner kick on kick offs knowing we kick it out of bounds like 50% of the time? Awful personnel decisions on his side of the ball. This is bigger than simply, “well he improved the defense.” He’s the CEO of the football program and many of his departments are failing
  21. Most people are joiners. They need to do more to get the student section going throughout the game. The student section injects life into the atmosphere. Instead of having the away side of the yell (whisper) Green, and the home side Gold, they would be better off having the student section yell one and the rest of the crowd yell the other. Get the students going, the rest of the crowd will feed off it.
  22. Like who? You can still touch base with potential coaching prospects (Spavital, Scott, Brown, etc) and guage interest over the next week.
