  1. How did that season end again? I forgot. Please stay on topic. This is hardly the point. Let me tie up the loose ends, as it was part of my calculus. In my mind, those guys are remebered as guys that didn't reach their full potential, and in my opinion (since this is the topic), they were quite a disappointing bunch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb_OEaHfWII
  2. So I guess that makes the Big East this guy? No respect!
  3. Rivals (i know, not the most reliable) only had him running a 4.5 in highschool. Thats fast but not world class speed. Has he been doing track as well or anything? He's bee a star on USF track. Hopkins and Lamar both have LEGITIMATE 4.3 speed, based on HS and College track results. But can he run routes or, more importantly, catch the ball? I'm sure the answer is yes, but I'm wondering why he's barely seen the field the last couple years but is a starter in week one over a senior in Victor Marc, or a more proven commodity in Welch? deters has a pretty good point, maybe it's because of the opponent. With Hopkins, its probably not a matter of catching the ball, but rather getting jammed at the line.
  4. Then the story line shifts to "this is a down year for the Big East". Just turn it off.
  5. Never camped out (i lived two blocks away on 50th), but that was a great atmosphere for the Gator game... memory is kind of fuzzy though... I do remeber how the Gator fans were complete douches after the game though.
  6. Too classy for that garbage can.. Thought the same thing.
  7. When ny kid grows out of his Huggies and has the ability to sit through a football game, I will start building tradition.
  8. We've heard that before! People need to stop being so **** pessimistic on here. We have a senior heavy team where it matters, with a ton of talent. I know it hasn't worked out in the past and we have had some very unlucky breaks but Jesus be excited about your team. Dont take for granted the talent we have to work with this year. I'm willing to bet half the people saying "I've heard that before" are the ones screaming their lungs out about the lack of excitement from the student body when in reality it's mostly because they have the same mindset. Forget about the past and get excited because this team has the talent and maturity at the right spots to make a great run. And I don't want to hear the excuse "I don't want to be disappointed again" because either way if we have a bad year everyone is going to be disappointed, not just the ones that are saying we have something special. This has been one of the most exciting offseasons in USF history from recruiting, transfers, and the basketball/softball teams doing very well in the post season. I understand it's freedom of speech and people have been disappointed many times in the past but we very well could be on the verge of a huge turn in USF athletics and it's time to put the past behind us and get excited for what's about to take place at Ray Jay this season. You call it pessemism, I call it experience. Bingo! And I call it ignorance with lack of research. You can't use "experience" because this team has as much talent from top to bottom as any team in school history in my opinion. Not to mention this conference is not necessarily loaded with extreme talent. We are the most talented team in the conference. How many times have you said that? We've always been near the top in talent for the last half dozen years. Would I say most talented? Talk to me at the end of the year. That's a tall bar to clear seeing how 3/4ths of our defensive backfield from the '07 season went on to play in the NFL or at least get drafted (add in another if you want to count Jerome Murphy in the nickel package). I witnessed that team, loaded with talnet on both sides of the ball get completely outclassed by the likes of UConn and Cincinatti. My point is it takes more than talent to win, and I haven't seen it yet from a USF team. Until I do see it or until we stop crapping the bed in conference play, I will be a skeptic.

  10. UCF punishes students by conferring degrees upon them.
  11. Back injuries suck... and they always come back. Best of luck to him.
  12. Attendance is slightly below average, but much better than last year... close to 10,000 more per game. http://espn.go.com/mlb/attendance I am in no way endorsing the Marlins or baseball in general. I could care less. South Florida's politicians have once again failed the tax payers and fleeced the Marlins' pockets and probably their own in the process.
  13. That would be equivalent to calling Brooksville Tampa. DeLand is close but not Orlando.
  14. This is only true to LeBron haters, revisionists, or those with a low BB IQ. No one wins the championship by themselves. Even Jordan needed help to win. He didn't win a championship (not even a division championship) until 6 years later, while Chicago built a solid TEAM around him. LeBron waited 8, with no help in sight. The team was built around JORDAN, he was the key part. Teams were built around magic, bird, Shaquille, Duncan, Hakeem, kobe, etc. (modern era). Lebrun calls himself the king but needs to team up with wade and bosh. Will never be cemented as a great for what he did. Guy wore a t shirt with a pic of himself on it at the after party then wonders why no one likes him. Congrats to d wade on number 2 So the NBA and Finals MVP was not the key in this whole deal? This team is not a championship team unless Lebron is the key player. We saw that last year. You miss the point. The players were the driving force behind the union on the Heat, which understandably comes across as weakness to some. Still mad about the Hawks I see.

  16. The same way people hate the Yankees for building their championship teams by outspending everyone else? Yes The same except they don't outspend everybody.
  17. He won't have to eat crow until LBJ delivers on eight championships.
