  1. Perfectly possible to win the Big East on paper. And we have the talent. If we crap the bed in the Big East again, I will join in the fire Skippy crowd. But the goal at the beginning of the season--win a conference championship--is still within reach. BTW, we are also one minute away from being 3-1, and six minutes away from being 4-0...neither of these losses were blowouts at all. Has Skip assisted you in writing this? He said the same things last season and how'd that work out for him? Hey, I don't think Skip gets a pass at all on any of this, and the contract extension was just plain stupid. And this team looks awful overall, no doubt. But we're .500 right now....just like we pretty much always are at the end of every season. Right now for wins/losses, this team is right at par. Hell, if we keep it up we'll match our best Big East record ever. Just saying...it's two losses...well, three after next week. Then the bulk of Big East play which is where this season will be evaluated as a success or failure.

  3. No I don't. They might luck in to 1 or 2 but I can't say, oh they should be beat this team. FSU will easily hang half a hundred on this defense. This team realistically could be 1-3 right now, if not for some bad coaching by Nevada and some late game heroics by BJ. This is a bad uninspired football team that plays with no emotion. Just look at the sidelines during the game, nobody seems to care. Nevada win contradicts assessment of bad uninspired team.
  4. Spot on assessment here. It's two fricking losses, guys...yes, bad losses but not blowouts. Lots to be concerned about for sure, but it IS the Big East...we have lots of conference games still to play.
  5. +1 Can't figure the logic out here...adjustments need to be made (or needed, I should say...).
  6. Those stats make this situation that much more embarrassing. Yes, it really does. +1
  7. Sadly I don't think there's a blitz playcall in the book. At least that's what the tape evidence tells me.
  8. Man oh man...it's two losses. Two VERY BAD losses, yes; point taken. There's plenty of season left, including 89% of Big East play. If you cancel your season tickets at this point, give back your degree too and start pulling for UCF.
  9. Glad to see BJ getting some love. When he settled in, his play was fairly consistent, fired with passion, on point when it counted, and cool under pressure (of which there was WAY too much). He'll never be an elite QB to be sure, but he has turned into a solid QB for this program. Two years ago no one could say that (even for the FSU win).
  10. ahhhhhhh now you need a lawyer when in trouble people call a lawyer If the Big East needs lawyers, I hope they find ones that can type in complete sentences, use punctuation, and capitalize letters where appropriate. What, what?!?!....booyah!
  11. $45 mil?...a yacht with a hot tub, a nice mansion on the Mediterranean, a tight trophy wife, and lifetime season tickets at Notre Dame (sorry, couldn't resist).
  12. Good points here...ND just went from playing in the "easiest" BCS conference to playing in the easiest conference with a tie-in to the new playoff arrangement. 5 games against middling ACC teams?...sure, no problem. It seems to me this is mostly about that playoff bowl money and NC possibilities that brings in. Big East just doesn't have that any more, TV deal or no.
  13. Spray tan...funny!! Bulls win by 3 in a squeaker; Bonani redeems himself.
  14. Give Nevada credit too for gambling on two 4th and shorts on the opening drive. They established tempo and took the wind out of our sails right from the beginning. Gutsy calls (especially the first one), and it made a huge difference in the first quarter.
  15. Thanks for the replies so far, and wish I had an XBox just for that deal (PS3 and Wii). Any other reports? Any inside info?

Average sagarin rating based on order of finish doing this period: 1) SEC 2) Pac 12 3) Big 12 4) BE 5) ACC 6) Big 10 Big 10 is all hype right now. If you move teams around to their new leagues like BSU to the BE, WVU to the Big12 and A&M to the SEC, etc,. the BE is in a dead heat for 3rd with the Big 12. BSU 10 win seasons and victories against "named" opponents really help. Also, Houston to my surprise since '06 has been 10-4, 8-5, 8-5, 10-4, 5-7, 13-1 with a few victories over some named opponents too. Good stat find here...this is the fuel Aresco can use. But the TV markets will be much more of a bargaining chip for sure.
  17. Thanks for the link. I think Aresco will give ESPN a chance, but it's tough to ignore the open market out there. NBC seems like a very good option.
  18. Right .... because they'll be a conference foe and the games will actually mean something, and that's the definition of a rival. Ok, this is more in line to what I'm feeling.... They are as much as a rival as D'ville, Rutgurs, Memphis. Ect..... Dude, come out of the closet. UCF is our rival whether you want to admit it or not.
  19. You're right that he is responsible for his grades, but you guys are also assuming that he was told exactly what he had to do. If he, the coaching staff, and the academic committee knew what he needed exactly, then why did it take till three days before the school year starts to know his eligibility. Shouldn't this have been known within a couple of weeks of his completion of his AA at JuCo? How dare you throw sense into this argument. Did he get his AA? Yes. Is he fully qualified from the NCAA? Yes. Did USUF not admit him just 3 days before school started? Yes. That is all we know This. Bad handling by USF. Bet Heath is PISSED at the way this has been handled.
  20. As my username says, I'm in North Carolina, and with a ****** provider that doesn't give me ESPN3 (contract ending soon with said provider, and I'm taking my business elsewhere). So I'm trying to find a way to catch Saturday's game on TV. I've read mixed reviews about Bullscast on here in previous seasons, but going on there now it looks like they've made some changes. Any insight here on how good the service is, and what improvements they've made? Anyone use it before and it was worth it? Thanks for the help!
