  1. Thank you. As far as I'm concerned they deserve this. These ******* Florida fans have such an undeserved arrogance about them. They've been around forever and haven't accomplished squat compared to the top tier teams. Keep in mind this isn't Boise State. This is a team that's been around for over a century and in a top tier conference. Screw them and their over confident fans.
  2. The problem I have with this move is putting this kid behind a shaky o-line that's still trying to find itself and having him throw to a hodge podge of WRs. It would be one thing if the players around him were confident and experienced with what they're doing, but it sure looks like they aren't. With regards to the Grothe comparisons, I would argue he was playing with more confident players that already knew the system. Also, Grothe was more of an improvisational player that could make plays even if WRs weren't getting open or the O-line was breaking down. White is completely different in that he'll be relying on solid play from the WRs and O-line in order to be successful. Unfortunately I doubt he'll get solid play from either unit. Just hope that doesn't shatter his confidence...
  3. Sorry but as much as this team is still struggling with their blocking assignments with the base offense, I wouldn't want to see them attempt a trick play.
  4. It's funny, the first time I brought some friends to a ucf/usf game who weren't even usf fans, this was their exact reaction. "You'd think these guys were Alabama."
  5. "with the combination of shooters that we already have" What combination would that be? Oh, he used the word shooters....not shot makers. Ah.
  6. I get a kick out of the people who think this is a positive. You do realize the conference we're in is weakening, right? This means to stay at the same strength of schedule level that we've had in the past that we'll need to INCREASE the strength of our OOC games. Pretty simple. We're basically going to be in a similar position as Boise has been in. In an awful conference that creates a weak strength of schedule and needing to offset that weak conference schedule with teams of a higher level. This just doesn't make any sense when you consider the future of our conference.
  7. You know Toarlyn isn't a center? He is 6'8 and Heath has him matched up with a 6'11 CENTER. He is going to lose that battle 9/10 times. It is too bad that Omogbehin isn't much help with his size. Fitz may not be a natural center, but he is our main post player. He needs to start playing like it. Ron Anderson Jr. was the same size as Fitz and held his own in the Big East. It's like Fitz is either a really soft 240lbs or he just has no desire to try to be a post guy.
  8. Realistically there's no one else that USF could get with a better resume'. The guy was the d-coordinator of an nfl dynasty, turned Miami around into one of the top teams in the nation, and turned North Carolina (a school with an absolute joke of a football team at the time) into a competitive ACC program that was nabbing top-tier recruits. Then you have all of the coaching connections this guy has throughout the nfl and college. If you're USF and looking to go the young, up-start route, then of course Taggart is your man. But if you want to go the experienced route, then I don't know who even comes close to having the record that Davis has, and could recruit like this guy. And anyone who would exaggerate and say this guy comes with a ton of baggage would be mistaken. He inherited a recruiting scandal at Miami (much the way Golden recently did), and he was cleared at NC of having anything to do with recruiting violations. Again, please show me someone with a better resume', that USF has a realistic shot at getting. Not out there.
  9. Don't stand a chance. Our D is terrible, and basically all of our playmakers on offense will be out for the game. This will be one of the worst college football games you'll ever see. Guarantee that.
  10. It's sad that an opposing team's fan sees this clear as day, but many on here are still in denial about it. Daniels has no touch. He never has since he's been here. If the guy isn't running or trying to launch the ball downfield then he's useless. As much as our play calling sucks, I believe much of it has to do with the fact that our coaches just don't trust this guy. How can you be a senior QB and still not be able to consistently complete the short yardage passes?? I mean a simple screen pass is like a rubik's cube for this guy.
  11. Leavitt wasn't the answer when we were consistently having mediocre seasons and he still wouldn't be the answer. Remember, he used to say the same things Skippy says now about our opponents. I remember him even talking up the 1-AA teams.
  12. Nope. I can't stand this game. I hate Rutgers as much as the next guy, but this game has blowout written all over it. I'm not saying Rutgers is more talented or better coached than USF. If Rutgers played another BCS team this Thurs, they'd lose like they always do. However, USF is tired right now - especially the defense. Holtz has been saying this all week. Greg tweeted the other day a scary stat where Rutgers D was on the field for 60 plays vs. our defense's 90 plays. Hopefully the O comes to play. This game has Pitt 2011 written all over it.
  13. Post why you can't stand Rutgers. Personally, I can't stand them because they're that gnat team. They don't do anything outside of the conference, and they're one of the big three anchors in this conference (Rutgers, UCONN, and 'Cuse). Although, for some reason we always have a hard time with them. They're not a rival. They're not a highly talented team. In their 143 years of existence, they've had what....1 good year? Since the BCS has been in existence, they've beaten how many BCS teams? Off the top of my head, the best BCS foe they've even beaten is....K-state? They do absolutely nothing year in and year out. It's almost like they spend the entire offseason preparing for one team....USF. This more than anything pisses me off about Rutgers.
  14. Last year's debacle put a hurt on this year's attendance. The home opener was proof of this. Every section excluding the students was pretty bare. You'll continue to see this until this team proves they're a winner.
  15. Even if USF only gave up 347 yards in the last three quarters, that's equal to giving up 463 yards through four quarters. So, yes even if you throw out the first quarter and back calculate the yardage allowed in the other three quarters, our defense is still swiss cheese. At this point, to me, it looks like we have the same defense we had last year. Louisville and Cincy are going to shred us, but if our offense can play mistake free football we'll stay in the game. Rutgers has no offense, so our D should hold them. It's just a matter of can our offense break through their D? Same will go for UConn. We are the same team as last year with better WRs. Spot on. The defense looked exactly like it did last year. Middle of the line crumbled...LBs unable to fight off blocks....and our secondary out of position on numerous plays. Unfortunately, I disagree that we'll hold Rutger's O. I easily see them putting up 30. Greg tweeted the other day that while Rutger's defense was on the field for 60 plays in their game, our defense was on the field for 90. These guys will be gassed by the second half. I hope our offense brings 40+ points in this game....
