  1. Interesting to see the Bulls as a betting favorite. College Football win totals - Why you should take these teams now With the college football season right around the corner, our experts looked at some notable win total projections to offer early advice on which side to bet.
  2. As I told you, my half century of experience indicates they should have strangled USF athletics in the cradle. It seems an OCS now would be more in the nature of a highly leveraged mausoleum. Glad it's not on my dime.
  3. While I don't like the CFN prediction, I don't really see much reason to debate it. Hopefully I am surprised but not holding what little breath I have these days.
  4. Hey! Don't knock Bob's College. Better than Oral Roberts in my opinion. Seriously, however, I am a USF alum, have been a fan of USF athletics for 50 years also in the past been very actively involved in booster activities. Now days, I have trouble mustering the same level of enthusiasm about the program. I don't think it is just one thing, but I think USF troubles seem like a symptom of what I see as an overall decline in college athletics. While spending has gone up values seem to have declined. I've talked to a lot of other fans and supporters who say the same thing. Maybe someday the landscape will change for the better but, until then, I just have found other things to do with my time, attention and money.
  5. Good to see another Reaves from the area leading the Bandits. Back in the day Bandit football was real fun.
  6. Well, Skip is now undefeated as a pro coach. And all of the baker's dozen fans who turned out for Sunday's games in Bham were able to socially distance for the games. Those discounted and free tickets seem to have really paid off. At least the Bandits got a weather reprieve from being alone in that stadium at night.
  7. I'm also hoping that rehab works and this is the year I can conquer my unhealthy addictions of the past.
  8. What's the seating capacity in that thing? Maybe we can kill the proverbial two birds....
  9. I'm a little tapped out right now. I'll look in the seat cushions and my daughter's change jar (a/k/a the "college fund") and get back to you.
  10. https://collegefootballnews.com/lists/25-worst-college-football-basketball-schools-of-2021-2022 I kind of knew in my heart it was true but still depressing to read this in print. Maybe I need to move a few more states away to remove my radioactive jinx effect on the Bulls.
  11. Who knew recruiting at Kentucky might be easier than at USF?
  12. Will be interesting to see how all of this USFL "rebirth" plays out with announcement of agreement between XFL and NFL. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33341262/xfl-petri-dish-football-innovation-prospect-development-part-partnership-agreement-nfl
  13. This may finally allow a spring league to survive. Also, interesting timing of announcement with USFL draft pending. Can you smell what the Rock is cooking? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33341262/xfl-petri-dish-football-innovation-prospect-development-part-partnership-agreement-nfl
  14. I think this will likely be the first time since they started that I will not attend a game. God bless Suzanne Ward. I don't know how she had the superhuman fortitude to keep the streak she did.
  15. I concur with this, except for L'ville, Houston and Temple...
  16. Yeah, that was lame. I renewed my season tickets early to get those tix for "free." Major storm rolls in and causes them to shut down all the pre-game/tailgate festivities. Then I get to watch my beloved team lose to Marshall in our home stadium. I almost felt bad for the "bad boy mowers" people who sponsored it. What a crappy turnout. Would have been the worst ever except I convinced some family and friends to come out (at least they were friends before that fiasco) and I also attended that horrendous game at the Swamp, which may have been the nadir for overall misery.
  17. In answer to two of the major questions posed in this thread, I expect the number of wins and attendance to hover around the same number this year.
  18. Was this in response to puc's questions about the extensions?
  19. Ah, T.J., we could have used your brilliance in the seasons to come.
  20. I met my lovely bride eight years ago today at a USF men's basketball game. To me that is the best thing to come out of my more than 50 years of fandom. I wish the team had just a fraction of the luck that I have.
  21. Frankly, in the past after abysmal seasons I have not understood what people were seeing that made them so confident the following season was going to be a success. But then I guess hope, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. How else to explain the course of elections in my lifetime?
