  1. Don't know what is more breathlessly awaited: My other Alma Mater vs. Duquesne in an epic opener in Tally; The titanic battle of future AAC powerhouses UNCC vs. the Fightin' Taggarts; The Rattlers tryin' to snakebite the Heels just down Tobacco Road.
  2. How many wins to get us to the center of the football world? Let's find out. One, two, three. Three!
  3. This is dear to my heart because I also lived in a (much smaller) trailer in my USF days.
  4. Latest from the Times https://www.tampabay.com/sports/bulls/2022/08/26/heres-the-latest-on-the-usf-bulls-on-campus-football-stadium/
  5. Maybe it was because they all seemed so painful. I was there for our loss in that "shootout" at the first bowl trip to the Muffler Bowl in Charlotte. I was also there to watch the Pack hang almost a half a hunnert on us twice, including last year's debacle where I braved COVID and a heart ailment only to increase my suffering.
  6. I used to mainline it as well. But like so many other things I used to love, modern times seem to have done ruined it.
  7. To be fair, the local school for @SilverBull would be Lenoir–Rhyne University... so. Edited 10 hours ago by Jim Johnson I do in fact have tickets to the LRU Bears hosting the nation's No. 1 ranked team, Ferris State (I think they are the Fightin' Buellers). That, however, is in large part to see how a shiny new on-campus stadium can advance the course of civilization. https://mooresvilletribune.com/sports/18-million-lenoir-rhyne-football-stadium-to-be-unveiled-on-sept-3-in-hickory/article_8f3ef038-2fc5-54d5-9d41-4bf4ea936596.html
  8. I've decided this year to watch college football like I do all the other pro leagues -- only when the mood strikes and from my recliner in front of my big screen.
  9. Cool. Perhaps you could have done like some other Hooters alum and gone on to coach the Raiders, Bucs and Raiders. My ex was one of the original Hooters girls at the old Clearwater Gulf to Bay location. She worked with Lynne Austin and B.L. (a/k/a the Sportschix). My ex also made a million $, unfortunately it was off me.
  10. And then there's this one. Maybe it read putting some teams it tiers and others in tears. https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/34413091/ranking-all-131-college-football-teams-tiers-2022-season
  11. This was my favorite version of the Rocky logo. I had lots of gear with this until first I got too muscled up to wear it and now I am just too fat to do so.
  12. Not really surprising, although I am not sure how we are going to get that 0.2 or 0.8 win.
  13. Seems that advertising of big ol' southern boys scarfing wings is a natural. I guess I can support this as I had an ex-wife who was a Hooters girl and a current bride who was a USF Assistant Athletic Director.
  14. Interesting to compare the comments to the consensus preseason forecast on the chart at the bottom of the article.
  15. I admit I am completely out of the information loop these days but my SWAG number is:
  16. Interesting to see the Bulls as a betting favorite. College Football win totals - Why you should take these teams now With the college football season right around the corner, our experts looked at some notable win total projections to offer early advice on which side to bet.
  17. As I told you, my half century of experience indicates they should have strangled USF athletics in the cradle. It seems an OCS now would be more in the nature of a highly leveraged mausoleum. Glad it's not on my dime.
  18. While I don't like the CFN prediction, I don't really see much reason to debate it. Hopefully I am surprised but not holding what little breath I have these days.
  19. Hey! Don't knock Bob's College. Better than Oral Roberts in my opinion. Seriously, however, I am a USF alum, have been a fan of USF athletics for 50 years also in the past been very actively involved in booster activities. Now days, I have trouble mustering the same level of enthusiasm about the program. I don't think it is just one thing, but I think USF troubles seem like a symptom of what I see as an overall decline in college athletics. While spending has gone up values seem to have declined. I've talked to a lot of other fans and supporters who say the same thing. Maybe someday the landscape will change for the better but, until then, I just have found other things to do with my time, attention and money.
  20. Good to see another Reaves from the area leading the Bandits. Back in the day Bandit football was real fun.
  21. Well, Skip is now undefeated as a pro coach. And all of the baker's dozen fans who turned out for Sunday's games in Bham were able to socially distance for the games. Those discounted and free tickets seem to have really paid off. At least the Bandits got a weather reprieve from being alone in that stadium at night.
