  1. 1. What is your favorite cartoon? The Simpsons 2. Favorite USF QB? Matt Grothe, Q was great, but we got to #2 when Matt was under center 3. Favorite USF RB? Andre Hall, imagine if he had been at USF for 4 years as opposed to 2 4. Favorite USF WR? Taurus Johnson, great hands, good speed, one of the toughest WRs we have ever had and best name ever for a USF athlete 5.What music would you choose to play every time you entered a room? Another One Bites the Dust
  2. I get that he is locked in and not going anywhere for a few seasons, but rating him as untouchable (same rating as Dabo, Fickell and Saban), seems a bit of a stretch considering he has had one good (but not great) season “Safe and Secure” would have made more sense Personally, I think Malzhan ultimately is going to be as effective at UCF as Tuberville was at Cinci
  3. I am wondering what this guy sees in Malzhan to rank him as untouchable after a 9-4 season, where he lost to a 4-8 Navy team, barely squeaked by us and really did not beat anyone with a pulse. Is a bowl win over a horrendous UF team really worth that much? If so, CJS can really score some brownie points on Sep 17
  4. St Louis, Nichols and Moffitt were by far, our best single year LB unit I saw JuJu Forte stretching shirtless during one of the ND rain delays - he was a 250 pound bundle of muscle. I wish that we had his size and strength on the line today
  5. It says that our culture is changing - I am sure that MK’s phone is ringing off the hook as a result
  6. The NFL also has revenue sharing and a draft, so any team with competent leadership can build a winner regardless of their market or other factors Nothing like that exists in CFB
  7. With all of the realignment moves, I would love to see stats on fan travel - It is probably not bad for football, but quite low for everything else Personally, I have only seen conference road games at UCF (football, basketball and baseball) and I have only ever flown to one road game (ND in 2011). My guess (at least for USF) is that I am not in the minority for fans based in FL As a side note, I clearly understand that all realignment is based solely on football television revenue
  8. From your fingertips to wins on the field hopefully! I also like to see us sign kids with offers from P5 schools - reminds me of the glory years and is hopefully a sign of brighter days ahead
  9. Rivals and 24/7 show him as a rising senior rated at 3 stars, standing 5’11” and 200 lbs as a safety Seems odd that we would go out of state for a 3 star DB (plenty of in-state talent at that position) anything special about this kid? (other than a brother in the NFL)
  10. Big East, hands down - while the AAC has consistently had 3-4 good teams, the Big East was strong top to bottom - with the exception of Syracuse, most teams had a winning record at some point. In 2006, 6 of the 8 teams went to bowl games (75% of the league), with Louisville winning the Orange Bowl over Wake Forrest and 3 teams finishing in the top 15. 2007 featured WVU beating #4 Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl (from ‘05 to ‘11, the Big East pretty much had 5-6 teams a year in bowl games) The best AAC season was probably 2017, where 7 of 12 teams went to bowl games (58%), with UCF winning the Peach Bowl over #7 Auburn and 3 teams finishing in the top 25
  11. This is not really an apples to apples discussion The offense under CJL was little more than controlled chaos and often, the plays looked like they were drawn up in the huddle using sticks and bottle caps. As a result, Grothe was often working with broken plays and IMO, he was much better outside the pocket than QF - scrambling around and throwing on the run (that did unfortunately lead to INTs sometimes) Putting QF at the head of the 2007 offense probably does not change the W/L record much (if any) The better question is what would have happened if Tags had been the OC in 2007 - that could have really been something
  12. Nice read I did not realize that Mangham amassed 15 TDs on nearly 700 yards, while getting only 54% of the touches The combination of Bohanon, Mangham, Joiner, Battie, Weaver, Horn Jr and Dollison gives us probably the third most potent spread attack in USF history - what is even better is that this group could be together for two seasons Hopefully Trickett is savvy enough to use it properly - if so, it may not matter what Shoop does with the defense
  13. Can’t believe that Chaz Hine was ‘08-‘11 - seemed like he played more recently than that Guess I am getting old
  14. Good example in this clip vs WVU in 2006 - he jukes two defenders and then out runs 5 to the end zone
  15. I voted for SJ Green because he was on the receiving end of one of the craziest plays I have ever witnessed live
  16. Considering that we have been conference mates with Cincinnati longer than anyone else, that is the team that I am going to miss - we have had some pretty exciting games with them over the years (even the ones that we lost) and they have traditionally drawn well at Ray Jay UCF was fun based on proximity (lots of fans from both schools at the games), which made the atmosphere more lively than other conference games
  17. Agreed - things would have been much different if Taggert stayed 2017 may have been a 12-1 year and the GCO would have rolled on from there My guess is that the offense may not have been as prolific under Oladukun and given that Taggert generally viewed the defense as the group of players on the field between offensive touchdowns, 2018 probably would have been more like 2015 for Ws/Ls
  18. This thread has something for everyone - conspiracy theories, expansion rumors, misinformation, doomsday predictions, personal insults, aspersions cast about our opponents, rants about the state of USF football What is not to love?
  19. Highest attended USF Football HOME Game of 2022? UCF Most memorable USF TD at Home? QF to RA vs FSU in 2016. Right out of the gate and we go deep Most Memorable USF Special Teams Play at Home? Mike Jenkins KO return against Cincinnati in 2007 for a TD. I believe that was the only time Jenkins ever fielded a kickoff return Most Memorable USF Defensive Play at Home? Selvie’s strip of Kyle Israel’s handoff vs UCF in 2007 Creative Nick-Name for OCS? La plaza de toros de la muerte
  20. Absolutely, those P6 helmet stickers are not only proprietary, they are custom made - somebody has to cough-up the dough for them
  21. That’s obvious - additional contract extensions for coaches who do not deserve it With these juggernauts set to join the AAC football season for 2023, I am sure that we will soon be hearing from VPMK that the contract for CJS has been extended another 10 years, with 5.6 million guaranteed up front Gotta make sure that we have that long term consistency in place in-order to deal with this stellar crop of new competition
  22. For some additional color, this is part of a 125 million dollar improvement project to a stadium that originally cost 55 million. In other words, maybe they should have invested a little more on the front end UCF’s Bounce House In Line for $125M In Improvements The football stadium is set to undergo changes such as a $5.8...
  23. IDK, lack of humidity in PHX could be detrimental to our passing game
  24. Several great players to choose from - I voted for Jessie (tough to beat his catch at Auburn), but nobody in USF history ran the Jet Sweep like Rodney Adams In the 2016 Memphis Game, it seemed like every time that Adams touched the ball, he was going 100 yards for a TD
