  1. People on this board have turned this kid into Paul Bunyan. he took Louisiana tech to the nit. . . Big deal. CUSA is a horrendous hoops conference. . . . And this guy couldn't even win it. MWC is three times the conference CUSA is yet everyone craps all over Neal and Rice. . . . . In my opinion they've accomplished much more than white.
  2. No way to this guy he is culpable in part for the sad state if affairs in hoops we need new blood
  3. Maybe his dad really does think this is a great job for a young coach to take over.
  4. If the coach is a crud, Sullivan may be man enough to apologize (at least privately) for supporting his candidacy. I bet the red flags are mote substantial than we are guessing right now. we need deadspin to get on the case
  5. So does the outback steakhouse guy cancel his check to usf athletics too? early test for Harlan
  6. Why didn't they do the background check earlier?
  7. The guy who reverses the culture of apathy will become the best recruiter in usf history. . . . . Just bring life back to the program and the other stuff will fall into place. Stan was a good recruiter and we were unwatchable.
  8. Sami al Arian and the hot teacher who banged her student told me they were embarrassed by usf athletics lately.
  9. Might pull a Richard Pitino and be 1 and done cut the bs your boy white would do the same when ole miss opens next year. Read his bio, he (and his wife) love ole miss.
  10. I'm just glad Sullivan is showing an interest in usf athletics. In my opinion, our problems are department-wide and greater than on field performance. since halftime of the 2009 Louisville football game, usf athletics gas been rotting from the top down
  11. I like this guy. agree he is on the way up and will bolt if he is successful but getting stranded by a talented guy that laid out a foundation for success is better (and cheaper) than having a bunch of former coaches on the payroll and a broken, moribund program that can't compete
  12. He looks like a character. USF needs a strong personality on campys its a moribund athletics program
  13. Who would you like at this juncture? Just curious. I would prefer Mike White at La Tech. We've passed on the movers and shakers due to the process, so why not wait at this point until the NIT and NCAA are completed. I didn't get any indications from IB's I know that Masiello may be the guy. All I heard was Buzz Williams and nothing about Pearl and the desire to go big on this hire. Masiello isn't a go big choice but neither is Mike White. I just really like the dribble penetration and motion offense of La Tech and their solid defense. He's been able to do pretty well without the benefit of athletes that Masiello had access to in NY, he had to really dig, find them, and coach them up. Michael White is the better hire and it comes down to recruiting.. The fact that USF believes they can hire a guy with little to no experience of recruiting the South is just laughable and very risky when the young gem in White is out there with all his experience being in the South where USF needs to concentrate on. You have a guy who was born in the state of Florida, just as young, plays the same exciting style, but with ties to the area and USF just skips on by him. Don't punish White because his team is still playing. He should be interviewed just like Masiello was and I think the choice would become clear, even for a struggling bunch of decision makers like at USF. Recruiting our area is huge for the next coach since he won't be recruiting with a high profile name. Why do we have to recruit in the south? there are more d1 prospects within 40 miles of NYC then there is in the entire state of Florida regardless, a successful team with a functioning offense will open up southern recruiting options in ways that simply haven't existed.
  14. I watched the tape he clearly makes losing uncomfortable. . . . Which is a good thing.
  15. read the article the outback founder and pitino are supporting this. . . Tells me this is likely seems like a competent, energetic guy
  16. Holtz was an abject failure. He knows exactly why he was fired. He doesn't wonder who stabbed him in the back. Howland firing was similar to Leavitt. Both men were left wondering what happened. I'd be surprised if he trusts anyone from UCLA.
  17. Because our ad was a senior executive in the organization that fired Howland 12 months ago. After that, why would Howland or Harlan want to work together ever again. How could Harlan convince Judy that Howland is a great coach? Why would Howland ever trust Harlan?
  18. Wikipedia says he is also the head coach of the Dominican Republic National Team. I'm intrigued by this potential hire. Imagine the possibilities with florida kids whose parents (or even grandparents in cases of home visits) prefer espanol. Antigua would be a charmer on home visits. Nevermind what he could achieve if a blue chipper comes out of the Caribbean (like Tim Duncan).
  19. Same firm Harlan and Co. used to get Alford. . . . . . Same firm USF used months later that . . . . . magically produced Harlan. . . . . . Now we use them again. I got in the wrong business.
  20. LOL that out best mbb season ever was the year we were homeless. The sundome really is an Indian burial ground. . . .
  21. According to Joey Johnston, we're going with a search firm.
