  1. I heard some OCS complaints from some long time fans at last week's tailgate. I think the issue seems to be that they believe they will have to pay much more than they are paying now, and most likely they will be "priced out" of the club amenities that they have taken for granted at the pro stadium (club lounge, A/C, etc.). I guess I understand, but those things are not really college football. I know I will be giving up those kinds of amenities (unless I move up to Iron Bull someday), but I am trading them for something that I think is better: games on campus with a college game day atmosphere and a "true" home stadium.
  2. <sarcasm> Thankfully, we have exclusive club access that is only available to those who legitimately have "club access" tickets. </sarcasm>
  3. Hoping we get a full student section. I heard that they are planning on filling the entire 100s part of the student section and overflowing to a few sections in the 300s (like back in the Big East days), so this is good. I hate the idea of the team having to feel like they are away when they are playing at home.
  4. I’m hoping for this. Hoping the 35k number is for “seats” but the capacity could go higher than that. It makes sense to do it that way.
  5. Wow. Temple comes in last. I had no idea. 12,500 tickets in a pro stadium, and I'm sure not that many showed up. That crowd makes ours look really good in comparison.
  6. I recall the students trying to start the wave...while we were on offense and the game was still in question. .
  7. So I missed that. Is this the “taunting” call? I must have missed it. A few minutes ago, my buddy told me it was totally deserved because he did the “ cut throat” gesture. I must have missed that. But if true, should be easily fixable.
  8. I was at the game and had a few beers. I didn’t see the telecast, so I only know what I saw. Seemed to me that the officials were a bit one sided. Many huge calls to sustain key drives for FAMU, and likewise many calls that negated big gains for us. Maybe it was all legit. It just seemed very lopsided. I saw a few unsportsmanlike things by FAMU that were not called. Yes, of course, I’m a homer, and I know you need to overcome these things to win, but it just felt a bit like Rutgers ‘07. But hey, we won.
  9. Same here. I got all the emails you mentioned, but nothing about a STM gift.
  10. It does seem like it. That afternoon IPF announcement/celebration was planned out to be a huge positive day for USF, and then right before it happened, the news about getting kicked to the curb by the big 12 came out along with the extra kick in the nuts that they took the cheesewads to to the east. I'm not sure if WW planned to say that on that day, but its almost like he said "oh yeah, *******, it's on now!"
  11. Just curious. Is this referring to the fact that at the season opener, the parking guys tend to force the cars in so tight that you can barely set up? That seems to be a pattern. I just got a new tent that is definitely 10x10...If they try to pack us in that tight tomorrow, I may not even be able to set it up.
  12. Who is our greatest previous USF AD? I'd have to say Lee Roy Selmon (I'm pretty sure he held the AD title at one time...maybe I'm wrong.) What is your pre-game and/or tailgate meal tomorrow? Mini sliders on the grill. Mac n' cheese. Beans (don't sit by me). Misc. soul food side options. Will announced attendance be greater than 30,000 vs. FAMU? If you mean tickets sold (not who actually showed up), I think we may squeak by because its game 1, night game, FAMU/marching 100, and new coach. Will we get the go ahead for the OCS TODAY? Yes. I think the TGH donation helps to seal the deal and show this is serious. If the Bulls called a play named "E.T. 42" what would it look like? No one would know what it was supposed to look like because the line would collapse immediately. BB would run for his life in the backfield, escape a sure sack, and then make a miraculous touchdown throw to seal the victory. Go Bulls!
  13. At least they'd be there contributing to the game day atmosphere. Beats not even going because its "too far."
  14. I can't wait to go to games at the new "Jim Leavitt field at Margaritaville Stadium".
  15. Let's see if USF can win a game (FBS level game) before we worry too much about anything else.
  16. Scott won many “halfs”. Problem is football is 60 minutes not 30. Yesterday we didn’t play 60 either. I do like that we got some key defensive stops. That was an improvement.
  17. That surprise could go either way. Assuming you mean in a good way. Go Bulls! FWIW last year during the rain delay at the BYU game, I was so pumped until I spoke to someone close to the program who told me to prepare to be blown out by halftime. Please, USF, shock me and roll WKU today. Go Bulls!
  18. Silver lining. These 2 coast conferences are like unstable radio-isotopes. I just don’t see these arrangements working out long term. To me, things have to go back to regional. We need to be winning when that day comes. This is stupid right now. Imagine if they did this at high school level and put Pinellas schools in regular season games with Miami schools. Very short sighted.
  19. This. Or at least the helmet. You wear the school pride normal gold helmet. You win, and you choose. If you choose the gold helmet every time, that's ok, too. I really don't care if they are winning.
  20. is this behavior in a way kind of like what Pitt and Syracuse did to the Big East (although I think they were working with ESPN all along). I recall Pitt and Syracuse holding out on the Big East contract while they were working to get out of the Big East and into the ACC the whole time. All orchistrated by ESPN. Only difference was that back then it was a clever and novel deception. Now it is the normal way of doing things in conference realignment. Those guys were ahead of their time.
