I think its pretty cool. All we have to do is basically be bowl eligible and we get to have one more game. You gotta love that. Hopefully its not Toronto, but if it is, I'm there.

I'd reccommend watching the game from the birm. I've been here before and had expensive tickets, but still watched from the birm. It's a nice hill of grass where you can just sit on a blanket and drink your beer in the sun. The Frenchies tiki pavilion is really cool. It's like Frenchie's with just the drinks (not the food). Theres a cool play area for kids at the park, and there is also a place that makes the best philly cheesesteaks. This is a great place to get into the baseball frame of mind. I think (as long as it doesn't rain every day for this year's tournament) the big east will want to have the tournament here every year.

Big time. If the committee in charge of a bowl matchup had to pick between USF and Notre Dame...well, you know what would happen. That's why its good for the Big East when ND gets into a BCS bowl--or if they suck--that's good too.

From the Big East Site: PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The BIG EAST Conference has entered into a four-year agreement to participate in the EV1.net Houston Bowl and will meet an opponent from the Big 12 Conference beginning in the 2006 season. The EV1.net Houston Bowl is played at the state-of-the-art Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. So it looks like the BE may or may not have lost the agreement for the Charlotte muffler bowl, but we got this new agreement with the Big 12 in Houston. So we got 1 BCS bowl + 3 others (Insight, Gator, Houston). So 4 teams (out of 8) in the Big East would go to a bowl if we had 4 teams eligible. Only exception is that Notre Dame is allowed to steal one of our bowl agreements from the big east if they don't get a BCS bid and they are eligible.

Michigan State was 5-6 last year. Not eligible by any means.

It's hard to say. The motor city bowl was only considering us because the big 10 didn't have enough teams eligible, so they could go look for an at large team from another conference. At the time, we were big in the news because we were the being touted as the "skunks" of the BCS and everything. I think it was a timing thing. After our performance last year in the game and the fact that there was only a few thousand of us that made the trip, I don't know if a bowl that was even farther away distancewise and in an even COLDER climate would expect USF to travel well. I think if we want to make it to a bowl this year, we have to either WIN the conference, or be picked by the Gator Bowl or Insight bowl. It won't be easy to get one of those. We have to have a much better record than last year, and we have to be showing an upward trend--not a downward trend (UCONN and everything after was really bad last year.) We need to just concentrate on winning and not be distracted.

Agreed. 6-6 won't make it. I heard that the big east may not even have a contract with the muffler bowl next year (the ACC still will). 7-5 may even be too close to call.

I was an accounting major when I attended USF. That e-mail reply is just the type of smug answer I'd expect from a Beta Alpha Psi. "I just go to school here." and "Passion for FSU." Sounds like he really feels crappy about being here. By the way, I think I will go to some tennis games. Why? Just because they have USF on their uniforms. GO BULLS!!!!!

We're in Pinellas, and we are wondering if there is a good place to watch the BBall game Friday night. Is there a good place to go in north Pinellas for away games? Good place = Lots of green and gold fans, beer, TVs, etc.

I think Friday is going to be a good night. It has to be. I got a bassaball jones.
