  1. So much for practicing all week on stopping opponents on 3rd down. Hows that working out?
  2. "We only had 9 days to prepare for this mac powerhouse on the road with sub 60 temps and hi winds...but there are some good things to take away from this..."
  3. Gotta stop balls tate. Confidence is low. I repeat. Confidence is low.
  4. I cant remember when this team was this hard to watch...maybe 2005. Wow. This game looks like it will be in question until 0:00.
  5. Great post. I remember having a real strong confidence in the defense. It felt like we could count on them for a 3 and out or to force a turnover when we needed it--not every time, but a lot more often.
  6. 2007 was a great year. Also consider that our loss to Rutgers could have been a win if you take away the "fumble forward." AND our loss to Cincinatti was a close loss after we turned the ball over like 6 times--we still almost won!
  7. I just tried... They're telling me that I have to upgrade to an Ultimate HD package. Yes. I had to upgrade for a month. Then I'm gonna cancel it. Ugh.
  8. I was reading this and I thought: Bottom line, if we play mistake free football and our opponent turns over the ball enough (whether we force it or they just have a bad day) we win. Otherwise, we lose. If we play mistake free, we beat RU. Same with last year and the year before. It's just not that often that we play mistake free.
  9. For local Verizon customers, you can call and subscribe to SNY on ch 96 (something like that) and get the game.
  10. It is getting embarrassing having him representing the program. Puppy dogs, rainbows, and kitties ******** skittles is just not cutting it. I agree with you. How about a taco that poops ice cream?
  11. That is true, but I think we'll see each team lose at least 1 conference game this year. That means we have to win 6 BE games in a row. At minimum 5 out of six. Muxh harder to do. 3 or 4 in a row, 1 L, 3 or 2 in a row is a more likely scenario. Put ourselves in a major deficit trivia question: When was the last 2 game BE win streak we had? 2010 Rutgars & Cinci. Yeah. It's been a while. Last 3 game BE streak was the tail end of 2007 (the comeback). I don't think there has ever been 4. Past performance does not dictate what the future will bring, but winning out or winning 5 is a very uphill task.

  13. Back to the subject of the thread. The doom and gloom is simple. We lost to Rutgers. Again. And played badly on national TV. Again. And we looked completely baffled and unprepared. Again. That's why people are so upset. There are some fans who would say that if we were going to go 1-6 again in conference, the one win we wanted the most would be Rutgers. I hate those guys.
  14. The video is cool, but the ending is kind of cheesey. I mean, outside of the USF community, nobody really knows who she is. She's the University Pres. and she does a great job, but to people on the outside, she's some lady who shows up at the end of the video. Who's she? I think Judy is a great person, but its funny--she always kind of reminds me of president Garcia-Thompson from PCU
  15. Any given Saturday is right. Look at Notre Dame last year.. they beat the crap out of us up and down the field, but with all the turnovers they had, we won a close game. Anything can happen.
  16. As of right now and the next few years, USF is the better choice. Tampa/St. Pete is the better market, we have a stadium that from day one can accomodate 65K for the big games, and as of today, we have arguably more established football and basketball programs. Five years from now, the answer could definitely be different, but I think if they expanded this year/next year, by a slim margin USF is still the clearer choice. I'd say our stadium has about 35-40k of surplus seating for any game other than FSU USF's ticket sales are always below 30,000-with the exception of the game against FSU? So fat this year, yes. Winning a home game now and then might help.
  17. Now, if we could just focus on WINNING a BE title since we're not going anywhere...
  18. Oh, if we're with ESPN next year, you KNOW this is coming.
  19. Again, true, but they are slightly better on the road than they are at home.
  20. Lotta folks had this same bravado before Rutgers too. Guilty. I was 100% sure we would kill Rutgers. What was I thinking? I like our chances at BSU. Reasons we win: Saturday Not playing at home Not playing a conference opponent Looked like crap last week and we aren't consistent at anything
  21. I've been reading most of the posts on TBP but haven't posted since that excuse for a game on Thursday night. What is it with our home record against "real" opponents lately? Does anyone remember when we used to WIN at home? What are we like 1-8 in BE home games under Holtz? If you think about it, everytime we have a victory, we seem to be on the road. Does anybody have any insight into what might be the reason for this? I can't explain it. It's getting to the point where I'm more confident about this team being able to get a win on the road than at home. Maybe we are no better on the road, but we seem to get more lucky bounces. Tired of walking out of Ray Jay as a loser game after game, year after year while people sitting next to me are paying half of what I pay for my same seats. Go ahead athletics, raise my seat prices again next year to make up for everyone dumping their tickets. Let's win a home game this year! What a concept! When's the last time you walked out of RJS totally pumped after a victory (non BCS schools don't count)? Was it the Rutgers game on 11/3/2010?
