  1. The more they delay, the more time goes by for more Oracle articles to be printed about how we really shouldn't do the project, etc. And the more chances there are of some event happening that would put the project on "pause." I can't speak for the rest of the USF fanbase, but I have this continuous fear of being "charlie-brown footballed" when it comes to any topic where I get my hopes up about USF sports. So seeing real progress (like ground breaking) is the only thing that keeps me from dreaming up theories on how/why it may not happen.
  2. Yep. Was hoping to be cooking up philly cheese steaks, but Bloody Mary bar sounds good!
  3. Would be cool to see us come out and play a complete game and upset one of the top conference teams. I don’t like basing our bowl chances on the idea that we “should be able to beat temple and charlotte.”
  4. I laughed when I thought about the offense lining up and then the center proceeding to tinkle on the ball. Is that a 15 yard penalty?
  5. Thank you. I hadn't seen this. I guess SMU leaving and Army coming in may change things, unless they just throw Army into the SMU slot. Should be interesting.
  6. Hey, John. Been meaning to ask. Is there any pattern to the opponents we play year after year since the realignment? With the old division setup, it was pretty easy to know who we'd play because it was a simple rotation pattern...switch venues for your division games, and then play a different 3 teams from the other division home/away every 2 years. Is there some pattern now? Like do we just take our 2023 conference games and reverse the venues for next year?
  7. I want to play anybody any time. Just make a bowl game.
  8. Maybe the typical USF student would be more inclined to “like sports” if we had a decent football team who played on campus and a basketball team that made the tournament more than once every 20 or so years. If we are relevant, students will be there. I think these articles are just written by people who genuinely have no interest in sports even at their own alma mater. It’s happening, so they need to stop whining and get with the program.
  9. All planned pre-game activities in the parking lot were cancelled due to weather, and the team played like crap. I don't prefer the gasparilla bowl here at home, but I am not going to judge it on my experience from the last time we were in it. That was just whatever could go wrong did go wrong.
  10. Coincidence? Nope. It's science. Conference USA = Conference America = America Conference = American Conference
  11. Nothing I know of. That's probably how it would work. I'd guess last game of the season if possible.
  12. Hey, at least while we are here in the AAC...it's always better to play opponents that the casual fan has heard of before. Wonder how they will handle the Army-Navy game though.
  13. Shoot. I just looked it up. You are correct, sir. I must have walked up and not even tailgated that day. I have no memory of a morning tailgate in a long while. I have been trying to forget the CJS era all together like it never happened.
  14. This thread is becoming about as informative as the conference realignment thread. Hope it is short-lived in comparison.
  15. Now that games are 5 hours long, I like the 3:30 spot. Speaking of nooners, I can’t even remember the last noon game at home. Had to be a few years ago.
  16. They didn't mess with mine in 2008 when I went, but I've heard stories of others. I have a USF license plate but I was able to back into a spot where it wasn't easily visible.
  17. Nice to get a win which is a huge positive and the overall objective was achieved. For me, the ugliness of this game brought back familiar memories of the Leavitt days...our games against uconn were ALWAYS very ugly games. It's just the way things were...of course, uconn was a much better team back then, too. Happy to get the win and put it behind us.
  18. You really have to love the title of the article. I haven't read the article yet, but that title. Wow. Could you imagine if someone had told you back in July that there would be an Oracle article entitled "USF working to prevent another blowout loss this weekend" in mid October? When will we stop sucking?
  19. Yes. Based on the way our team has played the last 2 weeks, it seems that the team went in thinking they were high and mighty, too. We need to get back to playing with a chip on our shoulders--like we have something to prove. Because we DO have something to prove, and we need to start proving it quickly.
  20. 100%. Another opportunity squandered. Maybe they'll have them ready to run through a wall for playing as uconn's homecoming guest on cbssn in front of 1000 fans.
  21. The disparity in the last 2 weeks is very concerning though. Whatever the reasons are that made those losses happen the way they did needs to be figured out.
