  1. Being in the big east was a great experience for both football and basketball. I knew the conference was temporary, but i never thought we’d ever get left back and even passed over. Talk about unstable. The minute Miami, BC, and VT bolted and the big east backfilled, it was already being messaged on espn that it was an inferior conference (I don’t think it was inferior, but that was the talking points). Couple that with the instability of having 9 teams (including ND) who did not participate in big east football. It was broken to start with, but I thought we were in the club. Oh well. Glad to have experienced it, and I’d take a similar situation over what we have now any day.
  2. As much as I hate those guys, I will miss the games a little bit. Not gonna lie.
  3. So they’d rather take their chances playing for free in the ACC on the east coast then associate with AAC and MWC teams and get paid?
  4. Me, too. And I’m sick have having to tell out of Towners: “no, we don’t have our own stadium. We play where the Bucs play.” And act like I think it’s quite ok. It’s not ok anymore.
  5. I'm starting to think like you, too. The worst thing now would be if this actually DOES happen with the PAC and AAC, and we somehow get left behind and not included.
  6. Back in the days when we were a great football team, this was almost always the case at practice/scrimmages/spring games, etc. Hopefully an indication that our defense no longer blows.
  7. That doesn’t fill me with confidence. “People who are now available?” As in “orphaned Pac12 member schools?” Wtf?
  8. I heard they are going to announce that USF is on stable ground, and is still a member of the AAC.
  9. we here at theBullsPen are wishing that all your Saturday mornings this season are blessed with 3 nice poos!
  10. 1. Yes. 2, 3, 4: Not sure, but I think we notice improvement, and the excitement of defense comes back. 5. Hopefully something cool. Will depend on answers from 2,3,4. 6. Coach Todd Orlando
  11. Agreed. Mediocrity would be a HUGE upgrade from where we've been the last 3 years.
  12. There is a ton of that going on here in FL, too. For me, USF football is a must-see. I don't mind the other teams' games, but my heart is not in them at all. If they form a true "big boy" exclusive league, I will watch USF only. If the big schools and ESPN want the equivalent of a junior pro league, they can have it. I already have a pro team, and it's the Bucs. I have no room for a 3rd team, and I certainly will never buy any gear from any other college other than USF. I know, this is just me, but I can't be the only one who feels this way.
  13. Probably won't cost too much to retrofit all these things to make them say "G6" instead of P6. A few rolls of colored duct tape and some scissors should do the trick. "The AAC, a true G6 Conference!"
  14. I think it makes sense for the big-boy teams to leave a sliver of hope for the G5 teams to get a playoff spot or two...otherwise the masses lose all hope and interest in college football. It's kind of like the hunger games. Give us hope and a chance, and we keep watching. Lock us out, and they lose viewership.
  15. That's 'cause our co-workers have recent achievements to talk about, and we have to go back 13 years to find something to boast about. (11 yrs for basketball). Maybe its time to retire and spend more time on the golf course.
  16. No, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that between the conference re-alignment, the involvement of tv networks, the NIL, the portal, etc., the major college sports (FB/MBB) seem to be morphing into a semi-pro type league, and the "student" part of it seems to have diminished in importance.
  17. Oh, yeah, interesting. Sometimes I forget that they are students since they can get paid and change teams every year.
  18. I was just thinking that in the old days before ESPN (ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+), most college games weren't even on TV. Now you can pretty much watch all of them on some network or streaming service. They can't possibly all be profitable. I wonder if we will go back to times where if you suck and have a small fanbase, you'll have attend the game or flip on the local radio station.
  19. Maybe this crap all dies when espn dies. Unless by then they have already permanently ruined the sport.
  20. AAU mattered in CFB once when it was about college football. Now it is turning into a pro-league and business where the only thing that matters is viewership and Tv/steaming dollars. Ain’t gonna help us.
  21. Yep. I know there were some good players, but when you are 1-11, turnover is probably a good thing.
