  1. Step 1 will be to have a defense that doesn’t get scored on every time the opponent is on offense.
  2. These renderings look much bigger than 35,000 seats. I'll bet when we see the real one, we'll also be able to recognize some adjacent buildings (like the IPF/football center).
  3. Yup. Tulane sucked until they didn't. Maybe 2023 is our turn to not suck anymore.
  4. I think we were during one of the CCS years. Most of us thought we were winning very ugly at the time, and our record was not indicative of how good of a team we were. I think we lost the last 5. My memory is not that good, though.
  5. Until I hear from Tuxedo Yoda, I am just going to ignore any speculation posted here.
  6. Mods: Please break out a new thread for tan pants discussion. Thanks.
  7. Tan pants suck. You spill a drink on them or get splashed by the sink, and everybody thinks you peed your pants. Down with tan pants, I say!
  8. The gamble ESPN would be taking is that they'd be counting on CFB fans to be interested in a small semi-pro league. I think much of the appeal of college football (and the network$$$-fueled conference re-alignment has been slowly destroying it) is the school pride, rivalries, traditions, etc. Will fans tune into a league of a few elite core teams and continue watching? We have pro football for that. I am not going to tune into watch the Big-10/SEC championship league and pick a team to be loyal to. The gators? Forget it. My hope is they screw it up so bad, that it backfires on them, and we eventually end up with regional conferences again.
  9. So the max donation would be: $263 bucks. Sounds reasonable. 89 spots available to improve * $2 = $188 12 regular season wins: $60 1 AAC Championship: $5 1 Playoff game: $5 1 NC game: $5
  10. I'm not sure that Skip's inability to recruit was entirely on him. I think they (admin) really limited him on recruiting by some strict academic standards that were put in at the time he arrived. It was his "problem" but maybe not entirely his "fault."
  11. I agree with your opinion. I would totally rather be in a more relevant conference...this is true, but as for recently, we haven't even been able to compete with the crappiest teams in the lowly AAC that we are "too good for." When we are playing good football, I get excited about the coming Saturday as early as Monday. When we are playing bad/hopeless football (no matter what conference), it is 100% all about the tailgate and nothing else.
  12. For sure. Some of them definitely live here, but they will also travel from the midwest to Tampa Bay in a heartbeat if they have a "reason" (like a game). Maybe not in September, but definitely when it starts getting cold up there.
  13. My daughter is a student at USF now. I always tell her how she can tell which buildings were there when her dad was there. Look for the light tan/tan off-white bricks and the 1960's-style architecture.
  14. I'm color blind and have a very hard time distinguishing between different shades. is that bottom/trim color "USF Green"?
  15. I must admit, while I thought our University was making huge academic strides, I never thought they'd invite us just because we were too "new" and had a direction in our name. So glad I was wrong. This is a huge achievement, and it will pave the way for much more future success for USF.
  16. True. Still think that having a strong defense wins more games even if the offense is not as talented as last year. But it would be a nice blessing to have an improvement on both sides of the ball or at least maintain status quo on the offense and come out with a better defense than last year.
  17. I think the odds are in our favor that it will be for the better.
  18. Let's resume this argument later. Much later. Like in a few years when we are witnessing a home game from our beautiful on-campus stadium on a beautiful day. Sunny, not too hot, breeze blowing as our team takes the field to the thundering sound of the HOT marching band. Looking out over the horizon, you can see the the tops of the buildings of our beautiful campus. This may be a nice discussion topic during half time.
  19. It makes it a better experience for me, so there's that.
