  1. Maybe Tom Herman forgot to kiss some of his players. One of the more creepy things I've seen in athletics.
  2. Agreed. Our run defense was totally exposed in the FSU game. Cook is a beast and they have a big OL but come on 470 yards on the ground. Charleston Southern contained them as did Wake and I'll go out on a limb and say we have better athletes than the both of them. This has been a problem for a while but was not dealt with because of the prolific offense. Willie felt he could hang 45 on everybody and thought the defense was good enough to hold teams under that. Well what happened? It all was exposed vs Temple. Temple gamed plan to slow us down and it worked and they exploited the major deficiency on defense. These next 4 games will tell us a lot about our coaching staff.
  3. Flowers does seem to be a little gun shy with deep ball
  4. I would tend to agree with this. It appears CWT believes he can out athlete other teams with his baymade players. CWT needs to surround himself with some quality coordinators. Problem is I don't think we can afford to.
  5. Basically it's a 3 team race for the East. TEmple USF and UCF and Temple holds the tie breaker over both us and the gnats. I don't see us running the table at all. The best we can hope for is 3 wins which means Temple has to lose twice (not likely) for us to win the East. Like Jim said anything is possible, but USF winning the East is highly highly unlikely. Anyhoo...On to Navy
  6. Temple coaches game planned for Flowers by putting Haason Redick in to more a LB and limiting his up field rush. When we went full house back field they made the adjustments even though they hadn't practiced it in 8 weeks. Coaching does matter. I wonder what USF defensive coaches are doing this week to slow down Navy http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/temple/20161023__A_huge_moment__means_more_meaningful_games_for_Temple.html
  7. Tackling is one part technique and one part want to and Bulls D lacks both.
  8. Byrd was the straw that stirred the drink last year. He was undersized but was fearless and the rest of the D fed off of that.
  9. This lack of passion and energy goes back to the Syracuse game. I just don't get it. I think new blood is needed especially at LB. Senat and Hector on the DL have been okay for the most part. DE has been non-existent. Would like to see more of Cherry Sawtelle and Thomas in a 4-3 look. AS and NH have been a disappointment.
  10. Yeah I get that it's UConn, however, they have an aggressive nature to the way they play.
  11. I think we're looking at 8-4 or 7-5 if massive improvement isn't seen on the defense
  12. Even at the end they were playing press man coverage and rushing more than the 4. I like the aggressive style.
  13. Sounds like CWT has had enough and changes are coming on the defensive side of the ball. I like that he's taking ownership. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/changes-forthcoming-for-bulls-defense/2299703
  14. I'm watching the gnats & UConn and I really respect the way the gnats play defense.
  15. On a brighter note, at least TBT put us on the front page of the sports section. Big picture of Flowers walking off the field with his head down. MF and TJ are probably fighting amongst themselves to see who can pile on first.
  16. For me, the reason I get upset is because it seems whenever we're faced with an opportunity to do something big we crap the bed. National TV audience and a chance to seize control of the east in the AAC and we fail. FSU at home on national TV and lots of local fans and students looking in with a chance to grow the fan base and we get blown out. And FSU is not all that this year. I guess this is just the USF way and I should accept it but I don't. On a total side note. Fall has arrived in Florida. Man is it nice outside.
  17. CWT knew this could be a special season and yet he gave his buddy his first crack to be a DC to run someone else's defense. Should have brought in someone from the outside familiar with the 4-2-5. Too much was at stake to let Woodie learn on the fly.
  18. The meat of our schedule started last night. The tough teams were back loaded on our schedule @ Temple, Navy, @ Memphis, and a much improved UCiF is difficult stretch and with this defense I see maybe 1 win there.
  19. At least I know what I'm doing the day after Christmas
