  1. Can't go. Irony is I could have driven there from Pensacola but I will be in St Pete on the 23rd. I did contact my season ticket rep and bought two tickets for the Bulls to donate at their discretion. May try to hit a watch party in St Pete.
  2. I am one of the older guys here. 1976 graduate. I used to root for all Florida teams until a couple bad experiences with Gator fans....the first one when Miami beat the Gators at Tampa Stadium in 1981 I think, Bernie Kosar and the Hurricanes scored twice in the last 41 seconds to beat the Gators. I was neutral when the game started but when Gator fans got on me for applauding good Miami plays I got pissed. Had another bad experience in Tallahassee when I got seats in the Gator section while rooting for the Seminoles. I was thrilled when we finally got our own team and obviously been a die hard Bulls fan since. Seminoles a distant #2. My son graduated from USF in 2015 so it has been fun sharing our joint Bulls enthusiasm. I used to be a Green Jacket member and went to most basketball games in the heyday of late 80's early 90's. Live too far away to be as dedicated a basketball fan as football fan.
  3. My best friend is an avid FSU fan and booster. We were discussing this same point today.
  4. Seminoles were my #1 team for many years while waiting for USF to get one. FSU has been a distant second place since then but I root for them anytime they aren't playing us. So I am hoping this works out for both WT and FSU. And if Leavitt joins him how ironic would that be?
  5. UCF is what popped into my head first. Maybe because it was so exciting and I am not being logical.
  6. Truth be told, I bought a non-refundable ticket to Tampa from Pensacola for Dec 1. Yes, that was before the Houston game.
  7. I was surprised about the lack of security. Would have been easy to take anything in. We did the alumni tailgate/bus arrangement and got out of there relatively fast. We were on 408 shorty after 8:00. But, yes, the traffic in the Polk area was bad coming and going. We left St Pete at 9:30am and got back around 10:45.
  8. I didn't see this thread until now. Here is what I posted on another thread: I have seen some scattered comments but thought I would summarize the game day experience here. 1- One of the most exciting games I have ever been to. I am still hoarse. 2- Flowers performance alone was worth the trip. He carried the team on his back and it was almost good enough to overcome the challenges he faced. I will miss him and wish him the best in the future. 3- We had no problems with any UCF fans. Now it helped going to the off campus Alumini party and getting bussed in and out. I am curious to hear what others who parked in stadium lots have to say. 4- From where I was sitting I thought there were both bad calls and bad non-calls by the refs that hurt us more than them. 5- Glad we have Ray Jay. If we ever build an OCS I hope it is significantly better than Spectrum. 6- I just have to wonder if our game play calling would have been different all season what we could have done. We are not the power running team that we pretended to be.
  9. Heading out from St Pete now. This is very exciting.....hope it stays so all day! Go Bulls!!
  10. Looking at the recent forecast I think we may have a chance of no rain by the time the game starts.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. May tomorrow be even better.
  12. We had a bad forecast for the Tulane game. Drove over with panchos in hand and it didn't rain a drop.
  13. I don't care whether it is USF or South Florida. I use both at different times when referring to our team. However, being from the St Petersburg area and working for years around Tampa Bay I now find myself living in Pensacola for business reasons. I will get introduced to others up there as being from South Florida and I immediately fix that by saying I am from the central West coast area. I don't want people thinking I am from South Florida when it comes to the geographic distinction. Don't want them thinking I am from the Miami area. We just need to have our football team do well and we will get known and nobody will care whether we use USF or South Florida.
  14. I bought tix to the USF tailgate party which includes guarded parking and a bus ride to/from the game. Primary reason was to just be around fellow Bull fans for food and some rah rah before the game. However, don't think the idea of having a safe place to park didn't weigh in a little. I have a prominent Bulls decal on my truck and it would make a good target.
  15. My two are 226 row 25. Talked to some at the game tonight who bought end zone tickets yesterday for $100 each.
  16. I took the crowd reaction to indicate way more than half those in attendance watch the boards.
  17. Speaking of highlights....did anyone else see the coed on the big screens early in the second quarter?
  18. I got UPS email saying I could pick them up tomorrow at the local store I had requested them to be sent to.
  19. Just bought two tickets for the tailgate and parking package. I like the idea of secured parking based on what I have heard from others. And I enjoyed the tailgate party at Tulane so looking forward to being at this one.
  20. Whatever the time, my son and I are going. And proudly showing my Bulls decal on my truck rear window!
  21. DJ would have moved the hurricanes around, the schedule would have changed, and we would be 9-0.
