  1. Temple is down 14-0 less than five minutes into the game. They look horrible.
  2. Best: A offense with a strong running game and passing game that keeps defenses off balance. Defense: A defense all over quarterbacks. Worst: Offense that has a weak running game against large defensive lines. Mental errors at qb. Defense that can't stop a power run game and is weak against a strong passing team.
  3. I am looking forward to the new Floyd. The past coaching staff was pretty bad so I think Floyd will surprise some people. Floyd doesn't have to do it all if he can just manage the game and keeps turnovers to a minimum we will have a pretty good offense this year.
  4. You forgot 4. We lose and the board goes into nuclear meltdown mode
  5. I agree we are fine in Ray Jay for now. When they do build it I would like to see something the in the 45-50k range that could be expanded to 65k+ in the future. And something built with acoustics in mind so it is loud like what Oregon has. Something that will give our team a real home advantage.
  6. Well he must have the turnovers mostly out of his system so if that is the case Floyd can be a pretty good QB. CWT isn't going to name a turnover machine as his starter I would imagine. Congrats to Floyd.
  7. Here is a article I found on bench from his spring game at Penn State. Once he gets the system down better I feel he will be our starter. Perhaps the biggest position battle that fans were fixated on heading into the spring game was the quarterback competition between Bench and Ferguson. While neither sophomore definitively shined more than the other, Bench was quite impressive throughout and appeared to be the more consistent passer between them. Bench got the game off to a strong start with a long touchdown drive, and although it was difficult for him to find a rhythm with O'Brien constantly changing quarterbacks and other personnel, there weren't many lulls in his play. Bench saw limited action in only two games for the Nittany Lions last year, but he looked like a seasoned veteran who is ready to lead the offense. He finished with 99 yards and one touchdown on the day, and while his statistics don't necessarily leap off the page, O'Brien had to be pleased. The Nittany Lions haven't gotten great quarterback play in recent years, so simply playing steady football like Bench did on Saturday is an improvement.
  8. This. Way to stay positive guys. And no you're not being a "realist" with expecting 4 wins in a sub-par conference. I have us pegged at 5. I honestly can't see more than that with the serious questions at QB, RB, and in the secondary. Not to mention breaking in a new offensive system. Nothing wrong with that and I think the majority of this board sees 6 wins. I love this team and I'm always hopeful to see a 9-12 win team before any season, but deep down, I know this is a 6-7 win team at best. This new conference isn't anything special, so you never know, it's just that we don't have a QB. I know I hate saying 4-5 wins because I see parts of this teams that have the potential to be really good. I am not that worried about RB I think we have enough talent there and we have a OL that should be good. Secondary I think will be improved just because Cosh is nowhere around the team. QB is a huge question mark. It all comes down to the QB.
  9. This is a rebuilding year people expecting a bowl game are most likely going to be disappointed when the team is likely to win just 4 or so games.
  10. I would agree I rather have boring than a turnover machine so give me Eveld to win now. I think Bench once he learns the offense will be your starter later in the year.
  11. Hmmmm Dual threat? 2 of 8 passes for 12 yards and rushing for 18 yards in 2012. Should we post Floyd and Eveld's stats from last year? They were atrocious at best. Bench played in 1/10th of a game, not like he could have thrown for 1000 yards on 10 plays. Didn't say he played a full game. Looks like he was yanked after 1 series. That could have been more a part of the plan than just being "yanked". He went in at the end of the half for one series ... He replaced the starter that got injured for a series only. The starter came back for the second half of the game.
  12. Not to derail this thread, but do you guys see Shaw tearing anything up? The kid is 5'9 and 170lbs, no way he runs through anyone. I think we will see our bigger guys: Pierre, Tice, and McCray just as much if not more than Shaw CWT said the other day he was really impressed with Shaw so who knows. He also said good things about Pierre I think. I don't care who we have at RB if just one of these guys can be a good back I am fine with that.
  13. Really just comes down to the offense. CWT has to transform the whole offense around to his style so I could see us winning 4-5 games but if Shaw tears it up and the QB plays well I could also see winning 7-8 games.
  14. When we have the ball and we go for it on fourth down or near the goaline and usf fans start to yell more. Hey idiot we have the ball keep quiet.
  15. Just watched the documentary Undefeated about a inner city football program that was turned around. It is amazing and maybe my favorite football movie now. Its on Netflix.
  16. I didn't mind the "All I Do Is Win" before the kickoffs but usually all we did was lose at home. I don't really care what song they play I just want to see this team win.
  17. We don't need the second coming of Joe Montana we just need a decent qb that can take a snap and isn't a turnover machine. If Bench can do that he will be are starter this year.
  18. Was in first grade and I remember that day very clearly.
  19. Considering the past season we had and a new coach I would give it a A. If we can have a decent year this year and get atleast 6 wins and show improvement then next years class could be our best ever. If he has an awesome year and we get like 8 or more wins which will be very hard, but if that happened no doubt we have a top 25 class next year.
