  1. Nice game. And, oh, I just pulled a wedgie out with that hand...
  2. Every game should matter to every player. But that is not what we are talking about. Fans and sports writers. That is what we are talking about.
  3. 0-12, 0-17 64-12 Yes, gag material from then to now.
  4. Sure wish we played UF and FSU this year. That would have certainly helped as we would spank both of them. At this point, we have to start with a UCiF game victory and work up from there.
  5. It's not the students. You could have a wall to wall student section and that would only be ~15k, IIRC. The rest of the stadium would look very red. The culture is changing. Older people? Mostly Yankees who eschew any college sports and will not sit in 100 degrees for anything. Younger people? Even at the game (outside of the student section) head down, texting, Facebooking, selfies, etc. Attention span is shot. We need to consistently offer big name wins. Older fans (and sports writers) might remember declaring USF the new Cinderella, only to have USF lose to a lesser opponent and making them look like fools. Some are gunshy to climb on the wagon at this point. We have to prove ourselves all over again. And, dare I say - a lot of fans don't even know what conference we are in, so a conference championship will not draw them in. A win that has the sportsworld buzzing will get their attention. But this is a tough market. Just ask the Rays.
  6. 1) USF2) 45 - 173) BB4) Salomon5) 540 I'm not always right, but I've never been wrong
  7. Yes, I forgot about that. Well, I'm not resistant to change, as I really embraced the new U logos when they came out. But we settled on a winner on the academic side and I see no reason to cartoon it up. You are right but I still hate it (stomps foot).
  8. I was really hoping this was a joke when I opened the thread. I'm with MikeG. We were always the Brahman type bulls until we weren't. We were always green and gold until we now aren't. I actually hate this change and see no reason for it. Opposite of standardization. The non-Merrill Lynch logos generated in this thread are much better. Don't fix what ain't broke.
  9. Thanks, Ricky. I have used those seats before (and they are good seats). My problem is actually getting to the seats from the parking lot. I'd use my cane but refuse to use a scooter. Vanity, I guess. BTW, I was allowed to use the elevator to get to the correct level, but oddly, was not allowed to board the elevator to the club. Anyway, you guys are very supportive, but in this chapter of my life, it is time to pass the baton to the younger generation. Beer in my LazyBoy is not a bad life either. Thanks.
  10. I had to give up my ST due to disability. Had four with club access and I loved it! But the walking got to be too much. Getting old is not for the faint hearted!
  11. I don't get the vitriol directed at xCWT. I wish him well.
  12. Nothing like inviting your son over to grill some steaks before the game, crack open a few beers and you can't watch the season opener. I was not fun to be around. It was an ESPN thing. We just have to be televised every game and not have to worry about these new fangled interweb things. Back in my day, we'd get to the Collesium early before the chariots started. No problem.
  13. Happy birthday and thanks, Brad, for all you've done to make it possible!
  14. Man...offseasons are brutal! Time to be hoarse on Sunday mornings again. All of my neighbors know who I am rooting for and even when a very good or bad play occurs. Flag goes out this Saturday!
  15. Pretty accurate assessment. I understand not wanting to see that in print, but if teams like Rutgers proved too much for us after beating ranked teams, I can't argue with it.
  16. Welcome, Toro. Good to have you aboard!
