  1. Lousy half but still lead. Cocky half. Didn’t expect to see that from these guys.
  2. Ticket scalpers for USF hoops? Who would have thunk it?
  3. Just FYI, Karter already has an NIL deal with Adidas Overtime Elite Athletes Join adidas Basketball Family as NIL Ambassadors NEWS.ADIDAS.COM adidas Basketball is thrilled to announce the signing of four remarkable Overtime Elite (OTE) athletes as NIL brand...
  4. Gotta be just about time for Karter to make a decision. If Coach Amir closes the deal there and adds him along with C.J. Brown . . . whoa.
  5. It’s something I’ll never ever forget. The whole place on its feet, loud as you-know-what, one strike away and Drew uncorked it to completely silence the place. It was surreal.
  6. If there is such a thing, it was a fun loss though, wasn’t it? We saw that Brutcher bomb in person. Still ranks as the No. 1 single USF moment I’ve ever experienced in person, edging out a Chucky Atkins buzzer-beater to top FSU in the Sun Dome.
  7. Let’s not forget the excellent turnaround season from volleyball this year! 22-12, 13-6 AAC
  8. Who’s tuning in for that SMU at FAU game on Thursday? A good one and an important one. Good hoops is played in the AAC, despite what some think.
  9. Right! They’re waiting to figure out replacing USF with FIU in their schedules.
  10. Let’s see if he can pull a rabbit out of the hat for baseball now.
  11. 18 innings, 9 hits, 1 run . . . we’ve come out smoking, man!
  12. If it’s important to be ranked, this is the week, given our current position. Beat UTSA and SMU and this time next week we likely have a number in front of our name. There’s a lot of 7 loss teams in front of us who can’’t stay ranked with 8 or 9.
  13. We’re 19-5 and leading the conference, football made significant progress and had what most consider a very good recruiting class, and the guy is still - mostly - filled with negativity. Tough way to go through life, maybe not for him, but for the rest of us (even though I have blocked him for quite some time and was foolish enough to randomly look at a couple posts).
  14. Surprised SMU isn’t getting any love. That game next Sunday is shaping up to be just as big as yesterday’s game. I believe they’ve won six straight and they play at FAU before coming to see us. If they win that game - and we beat UTSA - Sunday’s matchup could actually be the biggest game we’ll play.
  15. We’ll see. When WVU was beating Oklahoma and Georgia in bowl games and going to the Sweet 16, I doubt they felt like the “biggest loser” - even though the Big East got zero respect nationally. If UCF’s experience goes the same way and they are mired in the middle to bottom of the Big 12 for a decade, there may be some buyer’s remorse - not from the school’s profits, but from a fan experience. Doesn’t it really come down to finding a spot where there’s at least some semblance of a level playing field? Seems nearly impossible these days in the major conferences. While the power leagues dominate the “minors” - there’s also a clear pecking order of the blue bloods and the “others” in those leagues.
  16. Ranking is football-thinking. It’s mostly meaningless in college basketball, outside of impacting the top few seeds in the tournament. It’s nice window dressing, but it’s all about finding a way into the tournament - however you do it. That’s why college basketball’s post season is so far superior to college football. The only ranking that matters is when the tournament is over. Look at the year our baseball team reached the Super Regional. We weren’t sniffing a Top-25 ranking all year, but we were in that final poll. Hoops is the same.
  17. My wife’s side of the family are WVU grads and devout fans. They realize why the move to the “bigs” had to be made, but their day to day experience as fans has taken a complete nosedive since the Big East days. All those couch burners were riding high with puffed out chests - winning BCS bowl games and rolling to the Sweet 16. Now they’re also-rans playing games in Iowa and Kansas. It has been a horrible move for them - purely as fans. If the next round of musical chairs happens as most expect, they need to move back east in a new ACC, which is exactly where we need to be, as well. We’ll make enough $ to sustain a decent program and the fan experience will be good.
  18. Agreed. There were others that came on the floor but one kid was face-first down on the court with two cops handcuffing him.
  19. Saw one of the kids that rushed the court was tackled and handcuffed.
  20. Blasigh hit the freshman wall, but she’s going to be a nice player for us moving forward.
