    I wouldn’t have said this a week ago, but now I think Miguel needs to get into the starting lineup to help us avoid going into an early hole. He can get a bucket.

    Let’s be honest, none of those girls that were freshmen last year have made any progress - not Janette, not Emma, not Carla, not Dani, not Marina - and that’s why we are where we are right now. Jose is going to have to decide if any of them just need more time to develop or if they are what they are. We haven’t seen this much in the past. That’s why our program has sustained success. Role players one year always became key contributors the next when given the opportunity. This bunch hasn’t.

    It’s telling that Jose is desperate at this point to find anyone besides Romy, Vicki and - recently - Evelien who can give him anything. And nobody has stepped up. When you get those extra minutes, you need to show something, right? A little more than 2 points and 2 rebounds in 21 minutes.

    Why are we even talking about a player who averages 8 minutes a game and has made 5 field goals all season and 18 in two seasons? Just stop. My guess is she isn’t even part of the program next season.

    Expectations have surely been raised, but if we stumble down the stretch, this is still one heck of a season. The foundation has been established. Love what Coach Golesh did, but Amir has one-upped him already. Go Bulls!

    I’m still angry about that game against Notre Dame in the Big East Tournament. The game was in the bag, Jawanza Poland had a breakaway dunk to seal it and instead tried to lay it in and missed. Opened the door for ND. Inexplicable since Poland was the best leaper on the team. Still can’t understand why he decided on a layup? It was a really USF thing to do, I guess. I can’t get that play out of my head or the Chucky Atkins missed FT against Marquette that would have sent us to the Garden for the NiT Final Four.

    Make it 3-0. Shut out Michigan today, 1-0. Three games, haven’t allowed a run yet. Hmmm . . .

    Should we be making a bigger deal out of the Camren Campbell signing? He was committed to Michigan State until their coaching change and his Twitter page shows offers from Oklahoma, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Minnesota, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Boston College, etc.

    We’ve been a second-half team, but it’s gonna be tough against these guys unless they start to turn it over a bit. Doesn’t look like we match up with them in the halfcourt and they run really good stuff - probably better than anyone we’ve seen so far. Then there’s the size difference. Let’s see. One thing we know is our guys will not give up. They may get outmatched tonight, but they won’t give up.

    Worst defensive half of the season. Terrible on the ball and way too late on the switches. But Charlotte is impressive - much better than I expected. They have some dudes.

    I can’t remember another USF team that’s been this good at closing out games. Just have to say, how was that not a foul when the dude supposedly ”blocked” Corey Walker down the stretch there? That could have been a big play against us, but our guys just go back to work.

    Romi is really playing great and carrying them - Pryoresque a bit with her size but ability to play on the perimeter. She’s a tough matchup.
