  1. wow we can not stop the run. I am going to symbolically fire myself as a fan. Apparently I am not doing what it takes as fan for the defense to be great again.
  2. We can not stop the run. This is so antithetical to the traditional USF defense.
  3. Flowers should have kept the ball on that read. He only needed to beat a DE and the guard was pulling.
  4. Last time USF beat Memphis during regular season game, 2003. JR put on quite a show http://www.espn.com/college-football/recap?gameId=233330235 This reminds me how deserving the 2002 and 2003 teams were to go to a bowl game but were never awarded the opportunity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_South_Florida_Bulls_football_team (7-4) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_South_Florida_Bulls_football_team (9-2)
  5. It will be an interesting game on the road against Memphis. USF has only beat one team with a winning record, Navy. The other 6 wins have come against teams with losing records. In the two games against teams with winning records, USF loss to FSU by 20 and Temple by 16. By comparison Memphis loss to Navy in Annapolis by 14 points and beat only one team with a winning record, Temple 34-27 in Memphis. In the three losses Memphis has given up no less than 260 yards; 263 to Ole Miss, 447 to Navy and 362 to Tulsa. USF averages 273 yards per game. If USF prevents Memphis from scoring on punt and kickoff returns and does a decent job of slowing down the pass then assuming USF is business as usual running ball USF wins the game by no less than 10 points.
  6. Regardless of what the stats say and how the opponent looks on the field, I will root against Temple for the rest of the year. Heck the Cubs won the World Series after 108 years and the Cavaliers brought a championship to Cleveland. In the words of Kevin Garnett, "Anything is possible!!!"
  7. Tulane's defense played Navy tight and their offense can put points on the board. plus the game is in New Orleans.
  8. I believe Issac Bristol is a High School coach in North Carolina.
  9. Tyrone McKenzie - Stanford Defensive Assistant http://www.gostanford.com/coaches.aspx?rc=934&path=football
  10. For the last two years, UConn has upset a team at Rentcshler Field. In 2015 it was Houston and the year before that it was UCF. Here is hoping for a UConn win on Friday night.
  11. Well if UCF wins it just creates more drama for the last game of the season.
  12. Do you really think Tommy Tuberville wants to help USF?
  13. Western Michigan is undefeated and they beat Northwestern and Illinois. Although Northwestern beat Michigan State this week 54-40 they lost to Illinois State in week 2 9-7. Illinois on the other hand beat Rutgers this week but lost to Purdue who fired their HC this week. I say all this to fan the flames.
  14. As we learned last year there is more to winning the AAC East than beating all the teams in the division. Based on the current results Navy and Memphis will be the toughest challenges for USF. Temple and USF are in the catbird seat to win the east. I believe UCF will lose another 2 or 3 conference games. Temple has 5 games remaining 3 of the 5 at home including Friday night's matchup against USF. A win puts USF in the driver's seat. But what hiccups if any can USF afford? Beating Temple, UCF and SMU and losing to Navy and Memphis will set USF at 6-2 in the conference. Will that be enough to hold off 2-1 Temple, who after playing USF has games against Cincinnati, UConn, Tulane and ECU? I would love for USF to win out but I would hate to put USF's division title in the hands of UConn for the second year in a row.
  15. If I were a gambling person I would take into consideration the weather. It should be between 67 and 50 degrees on Friday in the city of brotherly love.
  16. CWT should run a drill in practice to quickly sub Mack for Johnson after a big play. I understand it will give the defense an opportunity to sub. but I believe for the remaining schedule in most cases USF players are better athletes there USF will still have an advantage
  17. He has to transfer to an FCS school so he can prove he has skills
  18. With the talent at WR, TE and RB the QB should not lead in rushing.
  19. I am not sure if it what the coaches are teaching or what the players are doing. Last year and this year the defensive ends did not hold the edge and instead rushed in at 45 degree angle thus taking them out of the play. I would have expected USF to switch to a 4-3 so the DEs could rush vertically and allow the LBs and SS to file the hole a la WVU @ USF2007. IMO rushing in at angle took them out of the play. Although there were some big passing plays it was the inability to stop the run that loss the game from a defensive perspective.
  20. I really hope there is an opportunity for him to continue playing collegiate football at USF or as a graduate transfer.
